Why this cardboard robot makes a difference day to day
At the craft table with the kids, as a figure on the birthday table or in a shop window: a ready-cut silhouette saves you the preparation. That leaves time for the fun part – creating. Instead of struggling with scissors and a craft knife, you hold a sturdy shape that works with any idea. A simple cardboard cutout soon becomes a little tin buddy with real character.
Material & finish
The solid board in bookbinding quality feels pleasantly sturdy in your hand. It doesn't warp as easily as thin card while you work on it. The surface is smooth. Laser cutting leaves the edges clean and typically brown. This is a sign of precise cutting, not a flaw. As the cardboard is untreated, you can glue things on, paint it or varnish it, just as your project needs. Every robot is made in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the cardboard robot
- At a children's birthday party: Each child paints their own robot. At the end, they take home a keepsake they designed themselves.
- In the children's room: put a large robot on the wall or in the window. The room then has a figure you won't find anywhere else.
- As table or party decoration for birthdays, celebrations or themed parties: place a small robot at every seat. Your guests will have something to smile about before the first drink.
- In nurseries, schools or craft groups: with sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces, every child starts with the same shape. You save preparation time, and the results still turn out colourful and individual.
- In the shop window or at the counter: painted in your colours, the robot livens up technology, toy or promotion themes.
Good to know about the robot
The word “robot” comes from the Czech “robota”, meaning work. It became known in 1920 through Karel Čapek's play “R.U.R.”. Robots have fascinated young and old ever since. That's exactly why the motif works so well as a craft template for kids' birthday parties, school technology projects or a themed party.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. Store the robot flat and dry, and the untreated cardboard will keep its shape for a long time. Avoid constant damp and wet conditions. If you want to make it more resistant, simply paint or varnish it.
