Why this cardboard cutout makes a difference in everyday life
Decorations work best when they suit the occasion and are made by you. With the robot as a ready-made blank, you skip the tedious prep work. You can focus fully on decorating it – on your own, with children or in a group. Hang it as a garland above the birthday table, on the wall in a child's room or in a shop window. The robot motif instantly brings a playful, technical feel to the space.
Material & finish
The robot is laser-cut from bookbinding-quality solid board. That's where the typical brown edges come from, which give the motif a natural look. The surface is smooth and untreated. It takes paint and glue well, so it works with almost any craft technique. With a weight of 755 g/m² and clean finishing, the cutout feels firm and sturdy. It also copes well with being moved and rehung often. Every robot is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the robot
- Crafting with children: every child gets their own robot to paint. At the end, everyone takes a little work of art home.
- For a themed party or a child's birthday: thread several robots in different sizes onto a garland. A whole robot parade will float above the table.
- In a child's room: painted and hung on the wall or stuck on, the cutout becomes a personal decoration that grows with your child.
- In a shop window or at the counter: staged as an automaton or machine, the motif catches people's attention. It's quick to hang up, with no big set-up.
- For a wedding, engagement, Valentine's Day or celebration: with lettering or decorations, the robot becomes a tongue-in-cheek centrepiece on the gift table.
Good to know about the robot
The word "robot" comes from the Czech "robota", meaning work. It became known in 1920 through Karel Čapek's play "R.U.R.". Since then, the figure has stood for a love of technology and dreams of the future. That's exactly why the motif suits themed parties, the bedrooms of little inventors or shop window displays about technology and machines.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Store the cutout somewhere dry and keep it away from moisture. That way the untreated board keeps its shape and smooth surface for a long time. Once painted or varnished, the motif has extra protection.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate the robot? Yes. The smooth, untreated surface can be decorated, painted, coated or varnished. It's ideal for crafting and designing.
Where do the brown edges come from? The cutout is laser-cut, which creates the typical brown edges. This is a characteristic feature of the production process, not a defect.
How wide is the robot? The width depends on the height you choose. For example, at a height of 10 cm it is 8 cm wide.
Is the cutout suitable for outdoor use? The board is untreated and should be kept dry. Outdoors, we recommend a sheltered spot or a protective coat of varnish.
Is the material sustainable? Yes. The bookbinding board is made from 100% recycled material and is produced in Thuringia.
What matters is more than a cardboard cutout. It's the moment when the children proudly hold up their colourfully painted robots. Or when your guests stop in front of the garland with a smile. Simply choose your size and quantity. You design the rest yourself.
