Material & finish

The disc is made of 3 mm birch plywood. It is produced in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia. We lacquer the raw boards ourselves in dark pink on both sides. We then seal them with a colourless, satin water-based clear lacquer. This makes the surface feel pleasantly smooth, and the colour is even and opaque. Wood is a purely natural material. Grain, shade and small knots vary slightly from disc to disc. This isn't a flaw – it's exactly what makes each piece one of a kind.

Good to know about birch plywood

Plywood is made of several thin layers of wood glued together crosswise. This keeps the board stable even when it is thin. It also warps much less than solid wood. Care & durability
