We lacquer the raw boards ourselves at Bütic, in our own production in Pößneck. Both sides are lacquered in light oak and then sealed with a water-based satin clear lacquer. Wood is a purely natural material. Variations in shade, fine textures and small knots are part of it and make every disc unique. They are not a defect.

Good to know about birch plywood

Frequently asked questions

Do all the discs look exactly the same? No – wood is a natural material. Grain, shade and small knots vary and stay visible under the clear lacquer. This makes every disc unique.

Can I write or paint on the disc straight away? Yes. The smooth surface is lacquered on both sides and the edges are cleanly laser-cut. It's ready for lettering, painting or sticking on without any preparation.

How should I read the size? Height and width are the same on the round disc. If you choose 10 cm, for example, the disc is 10 cm high and 10 cm wide.

Which lacquer is used? The discs are colour-lacquered in light oak on both sides. They are also sealed with a colourless, water-based satin clear lacquer.
