Material & finish

The disc is made of 3 mm thick birch plywood. It's sturdy enough for model making and hanging. It's light enough for table scatter and mobiles. In our own production in Pößneck, we paint the raw boards yellow on both sides ourselves. We then seal them with a colourless, satin, water-based lacquer. Wood is a purely natural material. Brightness, grain and small knots vary slightly from disc to disc. This is not a flaw – it's exactly what makes each piece unique. The laser-cut edges are smooth and accurate. This makes gluing and further work easier for you.

Good to know about birch plywood

Plywood consists of several veneer layers glued crosswise. This makes it much more dimensionally stable than solid wood of the same thickness, and less prone to warping. That's why even a large disc with a 50 cm diameter stays flat. It works well for gluing, writing on and hanging.

Care & durability

There's not much to do. Simply wipe off dust with a dry cloth. If needed, follow up with a slightly damp cloth. Avoid constant moisture and wet conditions. That way the colour and surface will look good for a long time.
