The disc is made of 3 mm birch plywood. It's sturdy enough for wall decor and signs, yet easy to work with. We lacquer the raw boards ourselves on both sides in chestnut. Then we seal them with a colourless, satin water-based lacquer. The lacquer keeps the natural wood grain visible. Wood is a purely natural material. It can turn out lighter or darker and may show small knots or irregularities in the grain. That's not a flaw – it's exactly what makes every disc unique. Every piece is made in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia.

Good to know about birch plywood
