Wooden cutout circle, turquoise – birch plywood, 3–50 cm

You're planning wall decor for a child's room, a name sign for the front door or table scatter for your next party. And you still need the right base shape. A turquoise disc made of birch plywood is made for this and for your next DIY project. It is lacquered on both sides, perfectly round and in exactly the size you need. So you don't start from scratch. You start with a finished surface that you only need to design.

What changes for you

• You can start crafting right away, with no sawing or painting of your own. The disc is laser-cut and arrives lacquered turquoise on both sides.
• Your result looks the same from both sides. Thanks to the lacquer on both sides, the disc also works for hanging tags and freely hanging decorations.
• You get exactly the size your project needs. Choose from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps, individually or in a set.
• Your lettering and designs look clean and clear. That's because the laser-cut edges are smooth and accurate to size.
• You're holding a genuine natural product. The satin clear varnish lets the grain and small knots show through, so every disc is one of a kind.

Why this wooden disc makes a difference day to day

Use it as wall decor, a door sign or a base for a stand-up display. A round disc of real wood has a calm, natural look that printed plastic parts can't match. The strong turquoise stands out against the visible wood structure. Your project looks handmade rather than generic. A simple base shape becomes a piece you enjoy looking at and picking up.

Material & finish

The disc is made of 3 mm birch plywood and is laser-cut. This gives smooth edges and accurate shapes that need no finishing. At Bütic, we lacquer the raw panels turquoise on both sides ourselves, in our own production in Pößneck. We then seal them with a colourless, satin, water-based clear varnish. Because the varnish is transparent, the grain and small knots stay visible. This is not a flaw. It is a feature of a genuine natural material. Wood is never completely uniform, and that is exactly what makes each disc unique.

How to use your wooden disc

• Crafting with children: each child paints or decorates their own disc. In the end, a colourful collection of little artworks hangs on the wall.
• As a door sign or name sign: write or stick on a name, hang it up. Guests find the right room straight away.
• As wall decor: combine several sizes and arrange them as a circle composition. This creates a calm turquoise area without drilling lots of holes or a big budget.
• As a base for stand-up displays and hanging tags: add your design and you're done. Your figures and lettering stand or hang on a clean, coloured base.
• In a shop or café: use small discs as price tags or table scatter on the counter and tables. With a set of 10, 25, 50 or 100, a uniform display is quickly set up.

Good to know about birch plywood

Plywood consists of several thin layers of wood glued crosswise. This makes it more stable than a solid wood board of the same thickness, and it hardly warps. For you, this means: even a large 50 cm disc stays light enough to hang at just 3 mm thick. It also stays flat enough for writing on and sticking things to.

Care & durability

There isn't much you need to do. Simply wipe off dust with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid constant moisture, as wood is a natural material. This keeps the colour and surface looking good for a long time.

Frequently asked questions

Is the disc really lacquered on both sides? Yes, both sides are lacquered turquoise and additionally sealed with a colourless, water-based clear varnish. It is also suitable for freely hanging decorations.

Can you still see the wood structure? Yes, the satin clear varnish lets the grain and small knots show. Slight differences in shade and structure are normal for wood and make each disc one of a kind.

Which sizes can I order? From 3 cm to 50 cm in 1 cm steps. Height and width are the same. If you choose 10 cm, the disc measures 10 x 10 cm.

Can I order several discs at once? Yes, as well as the single disc there are sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100. This is handy for craft groups, parties or shop decor.

A lacquered wooden disc is only the starting point. What counts is the moment your self-designed sign hangs on the door, or you see your finished wall decor for the first time. And you know: I made that. Just choose your size and quantity and get started.
