It gives each egg a handmade look. The black glaze on the front is applied with care. Depending on the light, you can still see wood grain and small knots through it. The back is left natural and untreated. Wood is a natural material. Variations in shade, fine textures and small knots are part of it. They make each piece one of a kind and are not a flaw.
