The first warm days are here and the window is open. You're just missing one detail to bring spring into the house. A silver wooden dragonfly on the window frame, on the coffee table or on a gift ribbon adds exactly that lightness. It never looks overdone. With a wingspan you can choose from 3 to 50 cm, it's made for your next decorating or craft project.

What changes for you

  • You'll find the right size for every idea. You choose the wingspan freely from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps, from table scatter to a large window picture.
  • Your craft project works without any finishing. The laser-cut edges are smooth and the cutout is accurate to size. So you can glue, hang or arrange it straight away.
  • You can relax when crafting with children. The silver glaze meets the requirements of DIN EN 71-3.
  • Your decoration looks refined and natural at the same time. Depending on the light, the glaze lets the wood grain show through. That makes every piece one of a kind.
  • You can design the back just the way you like. It stays natural and untreated, ideal for painting or sticking things on.

Why this wooden dragonfly makes a difference every day

A small motif can change a lot. A plain windowsill becomes a spring stage. A simple card becomes a lovingly made greeting. The silver surface catches the light and adds soft highlights. The wood underneath keeps it warm. It works at home just as well as in a shop window or on the counter.

Material & finish

The dragonfly is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. That's where the typical brown edge comes from, which gives the motif a fine outline. The front has a silver glaze. Depending on the light, you can see the grain and small knots through it. This isn't a flaw. It's the mark of a genuine natural material: every dragonfly turns out a little different. The back stays untreated, so you can easily work on it further. Every piece is carefully made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the wooden dragonfly

  • As spring window decoration: hang up a few dragonflies in different sizes. Your window looks light and summery as soon as the light falls on the silver surface.
  • As table scatter on the coffee table: spread small dragonflies between cups and cake. Your table looks lovingly laid without lots of decorating.
  • Crafting with children: the natural back is just waiting to be painted. In the end, every child proudly holds their own dragonfly.
  • On cards, wreaths and gifts: simply stick one on. A plain little parcel becomes a present that brings joy even before it's unwrapped.
  • In a café, bakery or shop window: arranged in just a few minutes, the dragonflies create a seasonal display that catches passing customers' attention.

Good to know about the dragonfly

In many cultures, the dragonfly is a symbol of lightness and change. In Japan, it even stands for luck and strength. So the motif isn't just for spring and summer decorations. It also works as a small good-luck charm on greeting cards and gifts.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. Store the dragonflies in a dry place and avoid constant moisture. That way the glaze and wood keep looking good for a long time. A dry, soft cloth is all you need for dusting.

Frequently asked questions

Is the glaze suitable for crafting with children? Yes, the silver glaze meets the requirements of DIN EN 71-3. That also applies when crafting with children.

Is the back silver too? No, only the front is coated. The back is natural and untreated – ideal for painting or sticking things on.

Why does the dragonfly have a brown edge? The dragonfly is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge, which gives the motif a clear outline.

Does every dragonfly look exactly the same? Wood is a purely natural material. Brightness, grain and small knots vary. That's exactly what makes every piece one of a kind.

How big is the dragonfly overall? The height matches the wingspan you choose. With a 10 cm wingspan, the dragonfly is also 10 cm tall.

This is more than a plywood cutout. It's about the moment the afternoon sun falls on your window decoration and brings a bit of summer into your home. Just choose your size – individually or in a set – and get started.
