Material & finish

Every star is laser cut from 3 mm birch plywood. This gives clean, smooth edges and a precise shape. It feels pleasant to the touch and is easy to work with. We lacquer the raw boards grey on both sides ourselves, in our own production in Pößneck. On top comes a clear, satin-matt water-based lacquer. It leaves the grain and small knots visible. These differences in texture and shade are part of wood as a natural material. They are not a flaw. They make every piece one of a kind.

How to use your wooden star

Care & durability

Frequently asked questions

Are both sides of the star lacquered? Yes. The star is lacquered grey on both sides. Both sides are also sealed with a clear, satin-matt water-based lacquer. Ideal for hanging, when both sides are visible.

Can you still see the wood grain under the lacquer? Yes. The satin-matt lacquer deliberately leaves the grain and small knots visible. This keeps the natural character of the birch plywood.

Do all the stars look exactly the same? The laser cut makes the shape precise. But wood is a natural material and varies in grain and shade. Every piece is one of a kind.

How tall is the star at a given width? As a reference: at a width of 10 cm, the height is approx. 9.5 cm. Other sizes scale accordingly.

Is the star suitable for crafting? Yes. The smooth laser-cut edges need no finishing, and the board is 3 mm thick. That makes it a good base for DIY projects, from tags to garlands.
