The star is made of 3 mm birch plywood. At Bütic, we lacquer the raw boards in colour on both sides ourselves. On top goes a clear, satin-matt, water-based lacquer that lets the natural grain show through. The cutouts are laser-cut. This gives smooth edges and clean, accurate results. Wood is a purely natural material. Some pieces are lighter, some darker, and some show small knots or fine patterns in the grain. That's what makes each star unique – not a flaw, but character. Everything is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.
