Each star is laser-cut from 3 mm birch plywood. That makes it light, stable in shape and pleasant to hold. We lacquer the raw sheets dark red on both sides ourselves, in our own production in Pößneck. On top goes a clear, satin-matt water-based lacquer. It protects the surface and still lets the wood grain and small knots show through. Wood is a purely natural material. Differences in shade and structure are not a flaw. They are exactly what makes each star unique.
