Each star is made of 3 mm birch plywood. In our own production in Pößneck, it is lacquered on both sides in the cherry shade. The clear, satin, water-based lacquer lets the grain and knots show through. That makes every piece one of a kind. Variations in lightness, small irregularities in the grain or knots are normal in natural wood. They are not a defect but part of the material's character. Laser cutting gives smooth, clean edges, so you can use the star straight away.
