The star is made of 3 mm birch plywood. It is produced in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. We paint the raw sheets in colour on both sides ourselves. On top is a clear, water-based satin-matt lacquer. It leaves the wood grain and small knots visible. This is exactly what makes every star unique. Wood is a purely natural material. It varies in shade and shows more or less structure in the grain. This is not a flaw – it is the character of the material. Laser cutting gives smooth edges and clean, accurate results.

Do all the stars look exactly the same? No – wood is a natural material. Grain, shade and small knots vary from piece to piece. The satin-matt lacquer deliberately lets this structure show through. This makes every star unique.

Is the star painted on both sides? Yes, both sides are painted turquoise and also sealed with a clear satin-matt lacquer. So you can hang it freely without worrying about a back side.

How tall is the star at a given width? As a guide: at a width of 10 cm, the height is approx. 9.5 cm. The other sizes scale accordingly.
