The window is clean, and it's slowly getting lighter outside. Only a hint of spring is still missing indoors. A wine-red wooden butterfly on the glass, on a twig or on the laid table adds exactly that splash of colour. It stays subtle. In sizes from 3 to 50 cm, it suits your window, your wreath or your shop display.

What changes for you

  • The wine-red stain adds a colourful contrast to your home. Depending on the light, the grain and small knots still show through.
  • You can decorate children's rooms too. The stain meets the requirements of DIN EN 71-3.
  • You'll find the right size for every idea – with wingspans from 3 to 50 cm, available in 1 cm steps.
  • When crafting with children, you have a finished motif in your hand straight away. You can also paint and decorate the natural reverse.
  • No tedious sawing needed. The laser-cut edges are smooth and precise, so you can get started right away.

Why this wooden butterfly makes a difference every day

A single butterfly in the window noticeably changes the mood of a room. It feels friendlier, livelier, more like spring. Grouped on a wall or on twigs, they quickly form a coordinated arrangement. You don't need to plan any elaborate decorations. And because wood is a natural material, the motif fits quietly into your home instead of cluttering it.

Material & finish

The butterflies are laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. That's where the typical brown edge comes from, which gives the motif a fine, framed look. The front has a wine-red stain. The reverse stays natural and untreated, so you can design it however you like. Wood is a purely natural material. Brightness, grain and small knots vary from piece to piece, so every butterfly is one of a kind. Each piece is made in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use your butterfly

  • In the window in spring: a few butterflies in different sizes on the glass – and your guests' eyes drift upwards as they come in.
  • Crafting with children: paint and stick things onto the untreated reverse. At the end, every child takes their own little work of art home.
  • On the laid table: a small butterfly at each place or on the napkin. The coffee table looks lovingly prepared before the cake is even served.
  • Attached to a wreath or twigs: in a few minutes, a simple bunch turns into a spring decoration for the hallway or entrance.
  • In the shop window or on the counter: large motifs up to 50 cm give you decorations that are easy to see from a distance. They're quick to put up, easy to swap with the seasons and need no big set-up.
  • For decorating gifts: a butterfly on the parcel replaces the bow. And it stays on as a little keepsake.

Good to know about the butterfly

The butterfly has always been a symbol of transformation and new beginnings. Hardly any motif stands for spring as much as it does. So it doesn't just suit your window and seasonal decorations. It also fits occasions such as christenings, first communions or weddings, where a new chapter of life is celebrated.

Frequently asked questions

Is the stain suitable for children crafting with the butterflies? Yes, the wine-red stain meets the requirements of DIN EN 71-3.

Can I paint the butterflies myself? Yes, the reverse is natural and untreated. It's well suited to painting, decorating and sticking things on.

Why do the edges have a brown rim? The butterflies are laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge, and it also gives you smooth, precise edges.

Do all the butterflies look exactly the same? The shape is precise, but the wood is a natural material. Brightness, grain and small knots vary, so every piece is one of a kind.

Which size should I choose? Smaller sizes from 3 cm work well for window decorations, gifts and table decorations. For walls, wreaths or shop windows, large motifs up to 50 cm are easy to see from a distance.

This plywood cutout is made for one moment. You hang the first butterfly in the window, and spring moves in before it has properly arrived outside. Simply choose your size and quantity. Your imagination and the daylight will do the rest.
