Material & finish

Each star is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives smooth edges and an accurate shape. It also creates the typical brown edge that gives the cutouts their character. The front has a white glaze. Depending on the light, the grain and small knots still show through. This is not a flaw but a feature of a real natural material: every piece is unique. The back is left natural and untreated, ideal for painting or gluing things on. The stars are made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia, and are neatly finished.
