Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The vase is in place and the bowl is filled. Yet the table still looks a little bare. A brown felt square with rounded corners changes that in seconds. Use it as a warm mat under the vase, as table scatter between the plates or as a base material for crafts. With sizes from 3 x 3 cm to 60 x 60 cm, it suits many decorating ideas. It works as a small mat or as a large surface.
What changes for you
- Your table gains warmth and texture without much decorating. The brown felt with its soft surface looks natural straight away.
- You order exactly the size you need. You can choose from 3 x 3 cm to 60 x 60 cm in 1 cm steps, so there is no cutting to do.
- You can start crafting straight away, with children too. The laser cut seals the edges, so they don't fray.
- Delicate surfaces stay protected. At approx. 2.5–3 mm thick, the felt reliably cushions vases, bowls and candle holders.
- You can plan larger projects with ease. The squares come singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces.
Why this felt square makes a difference every day
Felt softens the look of a room. Its soft, slightly rough surface breaks up the shine of hard materials. A few small squares as table scatter, one large one as a centrepiece – and your laid table looks planned rather than random. For crafts, you have a material that is easy to work with and still keeps its shape. So a little effort gives you a well-thought-out result.
Material & finish
The squares are made of 100 % polyester felt. They feel soft and hold their shape at the same time. They are laser-cut in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck. The cut seals the edges, so nothing frays. Every shape comes out clean and even. You notice this most with small sizes: crisp edges, rounded corners and neat workmanship.

How to use the felt square
- For a festive meal: Scatter small squares between plates and glasses. Your table decoration gets spots of warm, natural colour that catch the eye straight away.
- Under a vase or bowl: Lay a larger square down as a soft mat. The table stays free of scratches, and the arrangement stands steady and secure.
- Crafting with children: Paint the squares, stick things on them or combine them into figures. The sealed edges hold up to little hands too.
- During Advent: Make Christmas decorations, design hanging ornaments or put the felt under place cards. With brown felt as an earthy base, everything looks like it belongs together.
- In a café or at the market: Lay large cutouts on the counter or sales table as a mat. Your goods stay put without slipping and look lovingly presented. Setting up is quick.
Good to know about felt
Felt is considered one of the oldest textile materials of all. People value it because it isn't woven and doesn't fray. Instead, it forms a dense surface. Laser cutting adds another advantage. The heat seals the cut edge, so the shape stays clean for good. That is exactly why the squares work so well for decorations that are often touched, moved or rearranged.
