Each letter is laser-cut from dark real wood veneer. This gives it the typical brown edge that traces the outline. The letters are made in our own production in Pößneck. The cut is clean, right into the curves of the font. Wood is a natural material. Grain, shade and small knots vary from letter to letter. So every piece of lettering is one of a kind. This is not a flaw. It is the character of real wood.

Veneer is made of very thin sheets of real wood. Furniture makers have used this technique for centuries to give surfaces a real wood grain. Here, the low thickness works in your favour. Frequently asked questions

Why is a lowercase letter shorter than the size I chose? The height you choose refers to the uppercase letters. Lowercase letters are made to the same scale as in the font. Here is an example from Arial at 10 cm: the capital O is 10 cm high, the lowercase a is 7.3 cm and the lowercase h is 9.7 cm. The lowercase g is 10 cm high, but it reaches about 2.6 cm below the baseline.

Can I paint or oil the letters? Yes. The veneer comes untreated. You can cover, paint or oil it to suit your interior.

How do I fix the letters? You can glue them or drill them. At 0.6 mm thick, they lie flat on smooth surfaces such as laminated wood panels, doors or furniture fronts.

Where does the brown edge come from? The letters are laser-cut. The fine brown edge is typical of this process and neatly traces the outline.

Do all letters look the same? No. Wood is a natural material. Grain, shade and small knots vary from letter to letter. Every piece is one of a kind.
