Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong.A name on the bedroom door, a "Welcome" in the hallway or a favourite word above the kitchen bench. Often a wall just needs some lettering to really feel like yours. With these red wooden letters in the MT font, you put together your chosen word yourself, letter by letter. It's made to fit your wall. The stain lets the wood grain show through. Your lettering has colour and still looks like natural wood.
What changes for you
- You create exactly the lettering you have in mind. You choose each letter individually, from upper and lower case, in four heights from 5 to 20 cm.
- Your word looks warm rather than loud. The red stain lets the wood grain show through subtly. That makes every letter one of a kind.
- You can hang the letters in a child's room. The stain meets the requirements of DIN EN 71-3.
- You're free to decide how to fix them. The letters can be glued or drilled and used for all kinds of decorations.
- You get clean, even outlines. Every letter is laser cut and made in our own production in Pößneck.
Why lettering made of wooden letters makes a difference every day
Lettering you put together yourself turns an empty wall into a personal place. Your child's name, a greeting at the front door or a motto in the kitchen: words made of wood look calmer and more honest than printed posters. And because you decide on the size and characters, the result fits your room – not the other way round.
Material & finish
The letters are made of 3 mm poplar plywood. The front has two coats of red stain. A stain is not an opaque paint. So the grain shows through a little, depending on the light. Small knots may also be visible. This is not a defect. It is the mark of a real natural material: no two letters are the same. The back is left natural and untreated. The edges show the typical brown rim from laser cutting. Every character is made in our own production in Pößneck.

How to use the wooden letters
- In a child's room: your child's name on the door. From day one, the room feels like their own little kingdom.
- For a wedding or christening: lettering on the gift table or on the photo wall. It gives the occasion a personal frame.
- In the kitchen or hallway: a favourite word above the shelf. Suddenly a bare wall tells something about you.
- In a café, bakery or shop: a word like "fresh" or your business name on the counter or shop window. Your customers see at a glance what you stand for, without any printed signs.
- For crafting: glue single letters onto wreaths, door signs or gifts. That turns standard decorations into something of your own.
Good to know about the stain
Unlike opaque paint, a stain doesn't sit on the wood like a layer. It keeps the wood's texture visible. That's why stained lettering looks more lively than lettering printed in one colour. Depending on the light, the grain shows more strongly or more softly. This makes it well suited as wall decoration in living spaces and children's rooms alike.
Options & what's included
- Four heights to choose from: 5 cm, 10 cm, 15 cm and 20 cm. The height refers to the capital letters.
- Lower-case letters are made to the same scale as in the font. So they do not reach the chosen height. Example from the Arial font at 10 cm: the capital O is 10 cm high, the small a 7.3 cm, the small h 9.7 cm. The small g is 10 cm high but reaches about 2.6 cm below the baseline. In script fonts, lower-case letters are often a little smaller still.
- So for one word, order all letters in the same size, even if it starts with a capital letter. That way, upper- and lower-case letters match.
- Each letter is supplied individually. You'll find wooden numbers and special characters among our other products.
Frequently asked questions
Are the letters suitable for a child's room? Yes. The stain used meets the requirements of DIN EN 71-3. So you can put the letters up in a child's room.
Why are the lower-case letters smaller than the chosen size? The chosen height applies to the capital letters. Lower-case letters are made to the same scale as the font specifies. Only then does the word look consistent as a whole.
Is the back red too? No, only the front is stained. The back is left natural and untreated. That's actually an advantage when gluing.
How do I fix the letters? You can glue or drill them. At 3 mm thick, they are light and easy to fix in different ways.
Why can you see the wood grain through the colour? The stain is deliberately not opaque. The grain and any knots show through depending on the light. Every piece is one of a kind.
What counts is the moment your child discovers their name on the door. Or when your guests read in the hallway that they are welcome. Just choose the height and characters and put together your word.
