The Christmas cards are laid out on the table, the children are waiting with scissors in hand – and all that's missing is material that really makes an impression. Red felt circles are made for moments like this: soft, richly coloured and ready to use straight away, with no cutting needed on your part. Whether for crafting with children, as coasters or for your Christmas decorations, a circle of red felt brings warmth and colour to any project.

What changes for you

  • You can get started right away instead of painstakingly cutting out circles – because every felt disc has already been precisely cut by laser.
  • Your crafts look neat and stay that way – thanks to edges sealed by the laser cut, so they don't fray.
  • You'll find the right size for every project – from a small Ø 3 cm mug coaster to a large Ø 60 cm decorative surface, selectable in 1 cm steps.
  • You protect your table from scratches and water rings – because the 1 mm felt sits softly and works well as a coaster for mugs and vases.
  • You buy exactly the quantity you need – single or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.

Why these felt circles make a difference every day

Red catches the eye – on a table laid for afternoon coffee just as much as on the craft table. With ready-cut felt circles, you skip the most time-consuming part of the preparation and go straight to the fun part: creating. That way, an afternoon with the children, a sewing idea or a spur-of-the-moment decoration turns into something that looks neat and lovingly made.

Material & finish

The circles are made from 100 % polyester felt, approx. 1 mm thick. The felt is soft in your hand, flexible to work with and pleasantly light. Laser cutting gives each circle an exact round shape. It also seals the edges at the same time. Nothing frays, even if you sew, glue or often handle the discs. The felt circles are made in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. Every cutout is cleanly finished.

How to use the felt circles

  • Crafting with children: small red circles become Santa hats, baubles on Christmas cards or flower centres – and the children can simply start gluing without waiting for the scissors.
  • On the coffee table: a felt circle under every cup – your table stays free of scratches and gets a warm splash of colour too.
  • For sewing: as an appliqué on cushions, bags or hats – the sealed edges lie flat and keep their shape.
  • For Christmas decorations: large discs as a base for candle arrangements or Advent wreaths – your decorations stand steady and secure without touching the furniture surface.
  • In a café or at the weekly market: matching red coasters or display surfaces in exactly the right size – quick to lay out, quick to swap, always a well-kept look.

Good to know about felt

Felt is considered one of humanity's oldest textile materials – long before weaving existed, people compressed fibres into sheets. It's this handcrafted character that still makes felt so popular for decorations and crafts today: it feels warm and natural, yet is easy to cut, sew and glue.

Frequently asked questions

Do the edges fray over time? No – the circles are laser-cut, so the edges are sealed and keep their clean shape.

Are the felt circles suitable as coasters? Yes, the soft felt protects table surfaces from scratches and works well as a base for mugs and vases.

Can I sew the felt circles? Yes – at approx. 1 mm thick, the polyester felt is easy to sew and glue, for example for appliqués and your own textile projects.

Which sizes and quantities are available? You choose a diameter from 3 to 60 cm in 1 cm steps and order single circles or sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.

In the end, it's not about a disc of felt. It's about the moment the finished Christmas card lies in front of you, the mug stands safely or the children proudly show off what they've made. Simply choose your diameter and quantity – and get started.
