Material & finish

The cutout is made of 100 % polyester felt, about 2.5 to 3 mm thick. It feels pleasantly firm and holds its shape well enough to lie flat. Every square is laser-cut in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. This seals the edges, so they don't fray. The rounded corners give the shape a soft finish. Each piece is cleanly made and ready to use.

It hardly frays at the cut edges, because the fibres are bonded together across the whole surface. The laser cut seals the edges as well.
