Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong.A bare wall above the chest of drawers. A door to the children's room that has no name on it yet. A shop window that needs something new for the new season. With self-adhesive wooden letters in Arial, you put together exactly the lettering you're missing. Letter by letter, made to fit your wall. You choose your text and size. Then you peel off the backing and press the letters on. That's all it takes.
What changes for you
- You can decorate walls, doors and furniture without drilling and without tools. That's because each letter has clear, strong 3M transfer tape on the back.
- Your lettering is easy to read and stands out calmly from the surface. The beige poplar wood contrasts clearly with the dark laser-cut edge.
- You're free to decorate them as you like. You can cover, paint or oil the untreated front to suit your interior.
- Your text fits exactly, not just roughly. You choose from upper- and lower-case letters and from four heights between 5 and 20 cm.
- You stay flexible, beyond decorating too. The letters can be glued, drilled and used for all kinds of craft projects.
Why self-adhesive wooden letters make a difference every day
A name on the bedroom door, a favourite word in the kitchen or clear signage at the shop counter change a room more than you'd think. The room feels more personal without looking cluttered. Because the lettering is made of wood, it blends in quite differently from printed vinyl. And because you stick the letters on yourself, everything goes exactly where you want it.
Material & finish
Each letter is laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood and has the typical brown laser-cut edge. This edge traces the outline cleanly and keeps even small lettering clear. The front is left in its natural state. The back is coated with clear 3M transfer tape. Bütic makes the letters in our own production in Pößneck. Wood is a purely natural material. Each letter varies slightly in shade and grain, and small knots are normal. This makes every piece one of a kind, not faulty.

- In the shop window or on a shop shelf: clear wooden signage – customers find their way around faster, and your display looks tidy and well thought out.
- In a café or bakery: product names on the wall or counter – quick to put up, with no drill holes in a rented property.
- For a wedding or christening: names and date as lettering on the photo wall – and after the celebration, it stays as a keepsake.
Good to know about the Arial font
Arial is a sans-serif font with clear, even lines. It was designed to be easy to read and has been one of the most widely used fonts for decades. That's exactly why it works so well for signage that needs to be taken in at a glance: in a shop window, at the counter or on a bedroom door.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. An occasional dry dusting is enough. As wood is a natural material, you should protect the letters from constant moisture. If you paint or oil the untreated front, you also give the surface an even, lasting colour.
Options & what's included
- Four heights to choose from: 5 cm, 10 cm, 15 cm and 20 cm. The chosen height refers to the capital letters.
- Lower-case letters are made to the same scale as in the font itself. So they are not as tall as the size you choose. An example in Arial 10 cm: the capital O is 10 cm tall, the small a is 7.3 cm and the small h is 9.7 cm. The small g is 10 cm tall but reaches about 2.6 cm below the baseline.
- So for one word, order all the letters in the same size – even if it starts with a capital. That way, upper- and lower-case letters match.
- Each letter is supplied individually, so you can put together any text you like.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the Arial font or “aeribold”? Many people search for “aeribold” – what they usually mean is classic Arial. That's exactly the font we laser-cut your letters in, in upper- or lower-case.
Can I paint or cover the letters? Yes. The front is untreated and can be covered, painted or oiled. That way, you can match the colour and finish to your interior.
Why are the lower-case letters shorter than the size I chose? The height you choose applies to capital letters. Lower-case letters follow the font's proportions and are therefore slightly shorter. Order all the letters of a word in the same size, and the lettering will look right.
Do all the letters look the same? Not quite. Poplar wood is a natural material and varies slightly in shade and grain. Small knots are part of it and make every letter one of a kind.
Do I need tools to put them up? No. Peel off the backing, line up the letters and press them on. The 3M transfer tape holds without drilling and without tools.
What counts isn't the plywood. It's the moment you step back and read your word on the wall – right where there was nothing before. Just choose your size and text and put your lettering together.
