Self-adhesive wooden numbers & special characters – Arial, 5–20 cm

A date of birth above the chest of drawers, a house number by the coat rack or an anniversary year on the party table. Often all your lettering still needs is the right digits and characters. These self-adhesive wooden numbers and special characters complement our self-adhesive wooden letters in the Arial font. They are made for your own text. Choose a character, peel, press on – and a blank surface becomes your own message.

What changes for you

• You put your lettering together just as you like. Every character is sold individually, so you order exactly the date, number or symbol you need.
• You apply the characters without tools and without glue marks. The back has strong transparent 3M transfer tape.
• Your text fits the room, not the other way round. You choose from four heights between 5 and 20 cm. That covers everything from a subtle shelf detail to clearly visible wooden lettering on the wall.
• You decorate the characters to your taste. The untreated front can be painted, oiled or covered before you put them up.
• Your lettering looks all of a piece. Same font, same material and same production method as our wooden letters in Arial.

Material & finish

Every character is laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood. That gives it its clean, precise shape and the typical brown edge, which goes well with the light wood. Bütic makes the characters in our own production in Pößneck. The front is left untreated, so you can paint, oil or cover it as you wish. Wood is a purely natural material. Colour and grain vary, and small knots can occur. This makes every character one of a kind and is not a defect.

Good to know about the Arial font

Arial is a sans-serif font with clear, even lines. That is exactly why it is easy to read even from a few metres away. This is a real advantage for house numbers, table numbers or a date on the wall. Your lettering looks modern and can be read at a glance.

• Important note on size: The height you choose refers to the numbers. Small special characters such as full stops, commas or minus signs are made to the scale of the font and are therefore much smaller. In Arial, for example, a full stop at 10 cm is only about 1.4 cm in size.
• For a date, a number or a phrase, order all characters in the same size. That way they match.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need glue to put them up? No. Each character has strong transparent 3M transfer tape on the back. Just peel off the protective film and press on.

Can I colour the characters? Yes. The front is left untreated and can be painted, oiled or covered. It is best to do this before putting them up.

Why are the full stop and comma so small? Small special characters are made to the scale of the Arial font, just as they are designed in it. At a number height of 10 cm, a full stop is about 1.4 cm in size. This keeps your lettering in the right proportions.

Do all the characters look the same? The shape and font do – the wood not quite. Poplar plywood is a natural material with varying colour and grain. Small knots are normal and make every character unique.

Do the characters match the wooden letters? Yes. They use the same Arial font, the same material and the same production method as our self-adhesive wooden letters.
