The house number by the front door, the date of birth above the changing table or the year on an anniversary sign: often all that's missing are the right characters to turn an idea into finished lettering. With these self-adhesive wooden numbers and special characters in the Cooper font, you put together your own text. They're made for your next lettering project. Peel off the backing, press on, done.

What changes for you

  • You design house numbers, dates or prices exactly as you want them. Every number and every special character is sold individually, so you can combine them freely.
  • You attach the characters without tools and without glue marks. The back has transparent 3M transfer adhesive tape with a strong hold.
  • Your lettering matches your wall, not the other way round. The untreated front can be painted, oiled or covered.
  • You'll find the right size for every project. Choose from four heights between 5 and 20 cm, from a small door sign to large wall decor.
  • Your numbers line up seamlessly with letters you already have. They are made to match our self-adhesive wooden letters in the Cooper font.

Why self-adhesive wooden numbers make a difference every day

Printed stickers can quickly look generic. Characters made of real wood give a door, wall or sign noticeably more depth and warmth. The soft, rounded shapes of the Cooper font stay easy to read from several metres away. They look friendly rather than stern. A few numbers become a wooden house number or a date that feels made, not bought.

Material & finish

Each character is laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood in our own production in Pößneck. The laser cut gives clean, precise outlines. It also leaves the typical brown edge that neatly frames the shape. The front is left untreated. You can paint, oil or cover it, and you can drill the characters if needed. Wood is a natural material, so brightness and grain vary slightly. This makes every character unique. No two pieces are the same.

Dimensions & technical details

  • Material: poplar plywood, thickness 3 mm
  • Typeface: Cooper
  • Choice of height: 5 cm, 10 cm, 15 cm or 20 cm
  • Back: transparent 3M transfer adhesive tape with strong adhesion
  • Laser-cut edges with the typical brown rim
  • Every number and every symbol sold individually

How to use the wooden numbers

  • At the front door: a wooden house number on your door or letterbox. Visitors and delivery drivers find you straight away, and the entrance looks more welcoming.
  • For a new baby: the date of birth above the cot. From day one, the room tells its own story.
  • For a milestone birthday: a large year on the gift table. The occasion is visible as soon as guests walk in.
  • In bakeries, cafés or at market stalls: wooden prices and opening hours on the counter or a board. The lettering is uniform, quick to put up and can be extended with more characters at any time.
  • Our tip: Paint or oil the numbers before you stick them on. That way you can match their colour exactly to your wall, door or sign.

About the Cooper typeface

The Cooper font goes back to the American type designer Oswald Cooper, who created it in the early 1920s. Its soft, rounded serifs quickly made it one of the most popular advertising typefaces. This friendly look still suits children's rooms, birthday decorations and shop signs that should feel approachable rather than plain.

Care & durability

There's not much to do: an occasional dry dusting is enough. Keep the untreated wood away from constant moisture. If you paint or oil the characters, you protect the surface and choose the look at the same time.

Options & what's included

  • Available in four heights: 5 cm, 10 cm, 15 cm and 20 cm
  • Every number and special character is supplied individually – you put your own text together
  • Important: the height you choose refers to the numbers. Small special characters such as full stop, comma or minus are made to the scale of the font. They are therefore much smaller.
  • For a date or a phrase, order all characters in the same size. That way they match in the lettering.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint or oil the numbers? Yes. The front is untreated and can be painted, oiled or covered. It's best to do this before sticking them on.

Why is there a brown edge? The characters are laser-cut. The brown edge is created by the laser cut and is part of their typical look.

Why is my full stop or comma so small? Small special characters are made to the same scale as in the font. So they turn out much smaller than the height you chose for the numbers.

Do all characters look the same? Not quite. Wood is a natural material, so brightness and grain vary slightly. This isn't a flaw. It makes every character unique.

Do the numbers match the Cooper letters? Yes. They are made to go with our self-adhesive wooden letters in the Cooper font and fit seamlessly into your lettering.

Plywood and tape are just the materials. What matters is the moment your house number, date or lettering is up on the wall and simply feels like yours. Choose your characters and the right size. Peeling and pressing on does the rest.

Your legal guarantee rights

EU notice “Legal guarantee”: Minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union. Consumers can claim their rights under the legal guarantee of conformity, for example if goods do not match the description or do not function as intended. Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer free repair or free replacement; in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement. Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year. For more information on your rights in a specific country, scan the QR code or ask the seller: europa.eu/youreurope/guarantees. What to do if you receive non-conforming goods: 1. Contact the seller as soon as possible to report the issue. 2. Provide proof of purchase, such as a receipt, invoice, or bank statement. Sellers and producers may also offer commercial guarantees, which apply independently from the legal guarantee. For example, you may see this GARAN label representing a commercial guarantee of durability offered by the producer at no additional cost and covering the entire good.
