Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong.A founding year above the shop counter, your wedding date in the hallway or the house number by the coat rack: with wooden lettering you show numbers that mean something to you. You put together the self-adhesive wooden numbers and special characters in flowing Monotype Corsiva one by one. That way they fit your very own year. Just stick them on, and the lettering stays in place.
What changes for you
- You design your text freely. Every number and every special character is available individually and can be combined as you like. You can also mix them with our self-adhesive wooden letters in the same font.
- Your lettering goes up on the wall quickly, with no tools and no drill holes. That is thanks to the self-adhesive back. If you prefer screws or drilling, you can do that too.
- Your numbers stand out clearly, especially on dark surfaces. The untreated surface shows a light, beige natural tone.
- You decide on the finish yourself. The untreated side can be painted, oiled or covered until the lettering matches your interior.
- You will find the right size for every spot. Choose from four heights, from a discreet 5 cm to a clearly visible 20 cm.
Why these wooden numbers make a difference every day
A date or number made of real wood looks different from a printed sign. It feels calmer, warmer and closer to the story it tells. The flowing Monotype Corsiva makes your lettering look almost handwritten. A plain wall, a door or a shelf becomes a spot people like to look at. That works at home just as well as at a market stall or in a café.
Material & finish
Every character is laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood in our own production in Pößneck. Laser cutting creates the typical brown edge. It traces the outlines finely and gives the lettering depth. One side stays untreated. That is ideal if you want to paint, oil or cover the characters. Wood is a purely natural material. Brightness, grain and small knots vary from piece to piece. That makes every character one of a kind. No two are the same.

How to use the wooden numbers
- For a wedding or anniversary: the date in flowing script above the gift table. Guests see the occasion as soon as they walk in.
- At the front door or in the hallway: a wooden house number instead of a metal one. The entrance instantly looks more welcoming.
- In the shop or at the weekly market stall: prices and years on dark boards. The light natural tone stands out clearly, and your customers can read everything at a glance.
- In the café or bakery: the founding year on the counter or table numbers at the seats. Fix them once and they stay neatly on display.
- For crafting and decorating: birthday numbers on cards, door signs or gift boxes. Small characters, big impact.
- Our tip on choosing a size: The height you choose refers to the numbers. Small special characters such as the full stop, comma or minus are made to the scale of the font and turn out much smaller. So for a date or a phrase, order all characters in the same size. Then the lettering looks consistent.
Good to know about Monotype Corsiva
Monotype Corsiva is based on the classic chancery script of the Renaissance. It was once used for formal certificates and invitations. That is why it suits wedding dates, anniversaries and years so well. It fits wherever lettering should feel festive and personal at the same time.
Care & durability
There is not much you need to do. Untreated poplar plywood needs no care in dry indoor spaces. If you paint or oil the characters, you protect the surface even more. You can also match the colour to your interior. Avoid constant moisture. That way the lettering looks good for a long time.
Options & what's included
- Four heights to choose from: 5 cm, 10 cm, 15 cm and 20 cm
- Every number and every special character is supplied individually. You put together your text character by character.
- Small special characters (full stop, comma, minus) turn out smaller than the chosen number height because of the font's proportions.
Frequently asked questions

Can I paint or oil the characters? Yes. One side is untreated and can be painted, oiled or covered.
Why do the characters look different? Wood is a natural material. Brightness, grain and small knots vary from piece to piece. Every character is one of a kind.
