The star is made from 3 mm plywood. It is laser-cut in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. This gives it smooth edges and a precise shape, with no frayed edges when you paint it. The surface is left natural. It is not varnished or glazed, so paints, glues and oils adhere well. Wood is a purely natural material. Its shade and grain vary, and small knots may occur. This makes every star one of a kind and is not a defect.

On a regular 5-pointed star, the angle at each point is exactly 36 degrees – which is why this shape is surprisingly hard to saw neatly by hand. Thanks to laser cutting, the even star shape arrives ready-made, so you can put your time straight into designing instead of measuring.

There's not much you need to do: untreated wood stays stable and attractive for a long time in dry indoor spaces. Avoid prolonged damp – if you'd like to hang the star outdoors, you can varnish or oil it first for extra protection.
