The round discs are made from cast acrylic sheets (GS). They are genuine PLEXIGLAS^®, 3 mm thick, with a glossy surface. The material is completely opaque, weatherproof, frost-resistant and UV-stable. This means the colours last outdoors too. Every disc is made in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck. It is cleanly finished and made in Germany.

Cast acrylic glass (GS) is considered the higher-quality option compared with extruded material: it's easier to drill, saw and polish, and it holds its shape better. That's exactly why these discs are so well suited to projects where you'll be working on them further yourself – from making signs to model making.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do: only peel off the protective film after fitting, so the glossy surface stays untouched until the very end. A soft, damp cloth is all you need for cleaning – it's best to avoid abrasive cleaners so the shine lasts. As the material is weatherproof and UV-stable, it keeps its colour outdoors for years.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the discs outdoors? Yes. The cast acrylic glass is weatherproof, frost-resistant and UV-stable – the colours won't fade, even in constant sunlight.

Are the discs see-through? No, all eight colours are completely opaque. Depending on the colour, light transmission ranges from 0 % (black) to 15 % (yellow) – ideal as a panel or cover.

Is the disc made exactly to my size? Yes. As soon as your order comes in, we cut the disc precisely to the size you've chosen.

Are other colours available? On request, we can also make the discs in grey, cream, clear and opal.

Is the surface protected during shipping? Yes, every disc is shipped with protective film – it's best to peel it off only after fitting.
