Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The children's birthday party is coming up and the theme is jungle. The table is still missing a colourful parrot. This wooden macaw gives you a parrot silhouette that's ready for you to paint, stick things on or leave natural. Use it as table scatter or as a large motif in the window. The laser-cut blank is made for your next craft idea.
What changes for you
- You design the macaw exactly as you like. The plywood is untreated, so you can paint it, stick things on it, coat it or oil it.
- Your tropical or jungle decorations match. You choose the height from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps to suit your table, windowsill or wall.
- You can start straight away, even with children. The laser-cut edges are smooth and need no finishing.
- When crafting with children or for a whole themed party, you'll have enough motifs to hand. The macaw comes singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
- Your motif looks neat even close up. That's down to the careful finish from our own production at Bütic in Pößneck.
Why this wooden macaw makes a difference in everyday life
A finished decoration decides how it looks. A blank leaves the choice to you. You decide whether your parrot will be bright and colourful, get just a few dabs of colour or sit on the windowsill in natural wood. That way you get decorations that really suit your occasion instead of something off the shelf. And because the crafting itself is half the fun, you end up with more than a result. You also get an afternoon spent together.
Material & finish
The macaw is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. It has the typical brown edge that gives every motif a fine outline. The edges are smooth, so you can pick up the motif and start decorating right away. The wood is completely untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. So paints, glue and oils adhere well. As a natural material, every piece has its own shade, small knots and differences in the grain. This is not a flaw. It is what makes each macaw one of a kind. Made in Thuringia, Germany.

How to use the wooden macaw
- At a jungle-themed children's birthday party: every child paints their own parrot. At the end, they take home a keepsake they made themselves.
- On the windowsill or the laid table: spread a few small macaws as table scatter. Your tropical decorations are done in a few minutes.
- Crafting with children at the weekend: get the paints out and put the blanks on the table. Now the afternoon has a goal everyone enjoys.
- In a café, an ice cream parlour or at a market stall: large macaws in the shop window or counter display bring summery motifs into view. They are quick to set up and easy to swap with the seasons.
- For gifts of money or greeting cards: stick a small painted parrot on a card or gift. An envelope becomes a lovingly made one-off.
Good to know about the macaw
Macaws are among the largest parrots in the world. With their bright, colourful feathers, they are seen as a symbol of the rainforest and the tropics. That's exactly why the motif works so well as a recognisable sign. A single macaw is often enough to show a jungle party, a summer fête or a holiday mood.
Care & durability
You don't need to do much. The plywood is untreated, so it's best to keep the macaw dry and protect it from constant moisture. To make it more durable, you can paint, oil or glaze it. That way the motif stays looking good for a long time. You can bring it out again year after year.
