A door sign for your dog's favourite spot. A gift tag for a friend who loves dogs. An afternoon of crafting with children at the kitchen table. Sometimes all you need is a nice basic shape to turn into something of your own. This Australian Shepherd wooden cutout is just that kind of shape. It is made for your next craft idea. Paint it, decorate it or leave it natural, and a simple silhouette becomes a small piece with meaning.

What changes for you

  • You can start straight away instead of sawing it yourself. The silhouette arrives ready laser-cut, with smooth edges and the typical brown rim.
  • Your idea gets exactly the right size, from table scatter to door sign. You can choose a width from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • You can design it just the way you like. The unfinished wood takes paint, glue and oil without any trouble.
  • You have enough material for bigger projects such as making Christmas decorations or children's birthday parties. The cutout is also available in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces.
  • You give something personal rather than something random. Fans of this breed will recognise the motif straight away.

Why this wooden cutout makes a difference every day

Things you make yourself feel different from things you buy. They feel warmer and more personal, and they have a story. Use it as a tag on a present, as a name sign on the door or as table scatter on the birthday table. The clear silhouette of the Australian Shepherd fits simply and quietly into any setting. And when you craft with children, you also get what lasts: time together and a result everyone is proud of.

Material & finish

The silhouette is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives smooth, clean edges, so you don't need to sand them. The fine brown rim comes from the laser cutting and is part of the cutout's character. The wood is unfinished, neither varnished nor glazed. So you can paint, decorate or oil it as you like. As a natural material, every piece shows its own grain. Some are lighter, some darker, and there may be small knots. This makes every cutout one of a kind. It is made in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the wooden German Shepherd

  • As a door sign: Write your dog's name on it. Now your dog's favourite spot finally has a sign that really fits.
  • When wrapping presents: Tie a small cutout to the ribbon instead of an ordinary bow. The parcel for the dog owner stands out straight away.
  • When crafting with children: Each child paints their own dog. By the end of the afternoon, a whole colourful dog parade is hanging in the window.
  • As table scatter: Spread a few small silhouettes on the birthday or club table. Everyone can see the theme of the evening at a glance.
  • In a shop or at the weekly market: Use them as tags on dog products or as decoration in your display. With a set of 10 or more, you can kit out the whole counter in one go.

Good to know about the Australian Shepherd

Despite its name, the Australian Shepherd does not come from Australia. It was bred as a herding dog in the USA. Today it is popular as a loyal family dog and companion. That is exactly why the silhouette goes down so well as a small gift for owners and fans of the breed.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. The unfinished wood likes to stay dry, so keep the cutout away from constant moisture. If you want to use it outdoors, a coat of paint or oil will protect the surface. That way your decoration will look good for a long time.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint or decorate the cutout? Yes. The wood is unfinished, neither varnished nor glazed, and you can paint, decorate or oil it.

Where does the brown edge come from? It forms during laser cutting and is typical of this cutting method. The edges are still smooth and clean.

How tall is the figure at a given width? For reference: at a width of 10 cm, the height is 8 cm. The proportions stay the same for all sizes.

Do all cutouts look exactly the same? The shape does, the wood doesn't. As a natural material, it can be lighter or darker and may show small knots. Every piece is one of a kind.

Is the cutout available in larger quantities? Yes. As well as single pieces, you can order sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces.

What really matters is not the wooden silhouette. It's the moment someone spots the small painted sign on the door and smiles straight away, because it shows their very own dog. Just choose your size and quantity. You design the rest.
