Why this wooden brontosaurus makes a difference in everyday life
When crafting with children, it matters that you can get started quickly. The result should be fun, too. With a ready-cut shape, there's more time for painting and coming up with ideas. And at the end, every child holds something that really looks good. In a child's bedroom, on birthday tables or on homemade cards, the little wooden dino also looks different from colourful plastic decorations.
Material & finish
The brontosaurus is laser-cut from 3 mm thick plywood. This gives it the typical brown edge, which makes the shape look clear, almost drawn. The top side shows the laser-scored outlines and face. The underside is left plain. So you have the right surface for every technique. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. It takes paint, glue and oil well. As a natural material, it is not always uniform. Different shades, fine grain patterns and small knots are normal. That is exactly what makes each piece one of a kind. The cutout is made in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the wooden Brontosaurus
- At a dinosaur-themed children's party: put a little dino at every place setting or on every invitation. Your guests will know what to expect before the first game.
- Crafting with children: each child paints their own brontosaurus. At the end, they take home a keepsake they made themselves.
- In a child's bedroom: combine several sizes as a garland or on the wall. An empty corner becomes a little prehistoric landscape.
- On cards and gifts: glued on as a decoration, the brontosaurus gives a plain card a clear motif. It's also nice for making money gifts.
- In a shop or class: with the sets of 10 or more, you can supply craft groups, nurseries or party bags. There's no need to order each piece separately.
Facts about the Brontosaurus
The name brontosaurus comes from Greek and means "thunder lizard". It's a fitting name for one of the best-known plant-eaters of prehistoric times. Children love the long-necked dino. That's why the shape works especially well for birthday decorations, children's bedrooms and craft projects together.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. The plywood is untreated, so it's best to keep the dino dry and away from constant moisture. If you want to make it more durable, you can paint, varnish or oil it as you like. That way it will stay looking good for a long time.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the brontosaurus? Yes. The wood is untreated and left natural. You can paint it, colour it, decorate it or oil it, just as you like.
Why does the dino have a brown edge? The cutout is laser-cut. This creates the typical dark edge that clearly frames the shape. The edges are smooth.
Do all cutouts look the same? The shape is identical, but the wood isn't. As a natural material, it shows differences in lightness and grain, and sometimes small knots. Every piece is one of a kind.
How big is the dino at the width I choose? As a guide: at 10 cm wide, the height is 3.5 cm. The other sizes scale accordingly.
Think of the moment a child proudly holds up the dinosaur they painted themselves. That's when you know the craft afternoon was worth it. Simply choose your width and quantity. You can design the rest together.
