Why this wooden pterosaur makes a difference every day
You see shop-bought decorations everywhere. A pterosaur you've painted yourself tells its own story. Children design their own figure and are proud of the result. And you have an activity that works without much effort. On the birthday table or in a child's room, untreated wood looks calmer and more even than colourful plastic decorations.
Material & finish
The pterosaur is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives it the brown edge that is typical of laser cutting. The top shows the face and outlines as laser-scored lines. The underside is left plain, so you can design both sides as you like. The wood is untreated, with no varnish or glaze. It takes paint, glue and oil well. As a natural material, it can be lighter or darker. It may show small differences in the grain or the odd knot. That makes every piece one of a kind. Every figure is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the pterosaur
- At a dinosaur-themed children's party: scatter small figures across the birthday table. At the end, every child can take their dinosaur home.
- On a crafting afternoon: get the brushes out and paint or decorate the figures. It's an activity where even younger children end up with something to show off.
- In a child's room: paint a large version and put it on the wall or door. The room gets something homemade instead of off-the-shelf decorations.
- As a gift tag or party favour: add a name, and the little dinosaur makes every parcel personal.
- For nurseries, after-school clubs or shops: with sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces, you can kit out whole groups or a shop window display. No need to reorder pieces one by one.
Good to know about the pterosaur
Strictly speaking, pterosaurs aren't dinosaurs at all. They were a separate group of flying reptiles that lived at the same time. To children, it makes no difference. The flying giant simply belongs at every dino party. It adds variety to the table alongside T. rex and friends.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. As the wood is untreated, it's best to store the figure somewhere dry. If you paint or oil it, the surface will stay looking good for a long time. And you decide what your dinosaur looks like.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate the pterosaur? Yes. The plywood is untreated and can be painted, decorated with stick-ons, coated or oiled.
Why does the figure have a brown edge? The cutout is laser-cut. The brown edge forms naturally in the process and is part of its typical look.
Do all figures look the same? The shape is always identical, but the wood is a natural material. Brightness, grain and small knots can vary, so every piece is one of a kind.
How big is the figure? You choose a width between 5 and 50 cm. The height is roughly the same as the width. At 10 cm wide, the figure is also around 10 cm tall.
A wooden cutout is only the starting point. What counts is the moment a child proudly holds up their own painted dinosaur. That's when you know the idea worked. Just choose your size and quantity. You'll do the rest together.
