Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong.A leaving present for your favourite colleague on the ward. Your craft idea becomes a finished heartbeat motif in wood.
What changes for you
- You design the motif exactly to your taste. The poplar plywood is untreated and can be painted, decorated, coated or oiled.
- Your project will fit perfectly. You can choose any width from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps. That covers everything from a small card embellishment to large wall decor.
- No more tedious sawing by hand. The ECG line is precisely laser-cut and reaches you with smooth edges.
- You have plenty of supply for larger projects. You can order the heart rhythm line individually or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces.
- Your finished piece looks professionally made, not homemade. The typical brown laser edge frames the motif finely and emphasises the outline.
Why this ECG line makes a difference in everyday life
A heartbeat motif often says more than many words. Use it as a thank-you to people in medicine and nursing. Or use it as a symbol of life and connection. With the finished cutout, you start straight away with the best part of crafting: designing, painting, giving. Wood is a natural material with a smooth, light surface and visible grain. So your card, your gift or your wall design looks calm and grounded.
Material & finish
The ECG line is laser-cut from 3 mm thick poplar plywood. This gives an exact outline, smooth edges and the characteristic brown edge. The wood is untreated, so it is neither varnished nor glazed. Paints, glues and oils adhere well, and you decide on the finish yourself. As a purely natural material, every piece shows its own grain, small knots and varying shades. This is not a flaw. It is exactly what makes each cutout one of a kind. Every line is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the ECG line
- For card making: Stick a small line onto a card congratulating someone on their exams or a passed test. Your card certainly won't get lost in the pile.
- As a gift idea: Paint it, write on it and attach it to a money gift for trainee nurses or medical students. It is a motif everyone understands straight away.
- For crafting with children: The smooth edges make it safe to paint and decorate. In the end, a self-designed heartbeat picture hangs in the children's room.
- For wall design: Hang a large line up to 50 cm wide above the sofa or in the hallway. It has a clear shape and needs little extra decoration.
- In everyday business: Use several lines from the set of 10 or 25 as decoration in a surgery, pharmacy or medical supply shop. They quickly create a uniform window or counter display. Setting up takes very little time.
Good to know about the ECG line
The characteristic jagged line goes back to the electrocardiogram. The physician Willem Einthoven developed it at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1924 he received the Nobel Prize in Medicine for it. Today the heartbeat line is a symbol of life and joy in living, far beyond medicine. That is why the motif suits gifts for nursing and medical professions. It also suits personal occasions where the heart is at the centre.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint and decorate the ECG line? Yes. The poplar plywood is untreated and can be coated, painted, decorated or oiled. Paints adhere directly to the natural surface.
Where does the brown edge come from? The cutout is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge, which finely emphasises the outline of the line. It is a feature of the process, not a defect.
How tall is the line at my chosen width? For reference: at a width of 10 cm, the height is 9.5 cm. The proportions stay the same across all sizes.
Do all cutouts look the same? The shape is always identical, but the wood is not. As a natural material, every piece shows its own grain, slight colour differences and sometimes small knots. Each piece is one of a kind.
Can I order larger quantities? Yes. As well as single pieces, there are sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces. They are handy for group projects, decoration series or commercial displays.
You get a wooden cutout that you design yourself. Whoever receives your heartbeat motif will know it was made just for them. Simply choose your width and quantity, and get started.
