Why this wooden witch makes a difference in everyday life
Ready-made Halloween decorations often look the same everywhere. A blank made of real wood lets you create something of your own instead. It suits your home, and you made it with your own hands. When crafting with children, the flying witch quickly becomes a little ritual: painting together, hanging it up, enjoying it. And in the end, the figure in the window isn't just any figure. It's yours.
Material & finish
The witch is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood and made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. The laser cut gives clean, smooth edges. It also leaves the typical brown edge, which gives the silhouette extra definition. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. This means paint, glue or oil adhere reliably. As a natural material, every piece has its own grain. The shade varies, and there may be small knots. This is not a flaw. It makes every witch one of a kind.

How to use the flying witch
- Crafting with children on an autumn afternoon: everyone paints their own witch. By evening, a homemade Halloween decoration hangs in the window, and everyone is proud of it.
- For a Halloween party: put several witches in different sizes on the wall or above the buffet. The room gains depth, as if a whole flock of witches were flying past.
- As a little extra: tie a mini witch to the gift ribbon or attach it to the invitation. The post already sets the mood for the evening.
- In a café, bakery or shop: place the silhouettes quickly in the shop window or on the counter. You get seasonal decorations with little effort. Sets of up to 100 pieces cover larger quantities.
- On the laid table: put a witch at each place as a place card or table scatter. Your guests have something to discover before the first course.
Good to know about the witch
The witch on a broomstick is one of the oldest and best-known motifs of Halloween and Walpurgis Night. Hardly any silhouette is recognised so quickly. That is exactly what makes her so rewarding as a decoration. Even a small, unpainted figure in the window tells the whole story at once.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. An occasional dry dusting is enough. As the plywood is untreated, avoid constant moisture. Then the witch keeps her shape for a long time and is ready to use again next October. If you want to display her outdoors, paint or oil her first.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the witch or glue things on? Yes. The wood is untreated and takes paint, glue or oil well. It's ideal for painting, decorating and designing.
Why is the edge brown? The witch is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge. It's a feature of the laser cut and gives the silhouette extra definition.
Does every witch look the same? The shape does, the wood not quite. As a natural material, plywood varies in shade and may show small knots or textures in the grain. This is what makes every piece unique.
Which size is right? You choose the width between 3 and 50 cm in 1 cm steps. Small sizes suit cards and table scatter, large ones suit windows or walls.
This cutout is made for one moment. Dusk falls outside, the witch shows her silhouette in the window, and your home is ready for Halloween. Just choose your size – single or in a set.
