A touch of the coast in your own home. A window onto the garden, a few shells on the chest of drawers. And above them a flying wooden seagull that brings a holiday mood straight into the room. The wooden seagull reaches you as an untreated cutout. That makes it ideal for your seaside decorations. You decide whether it stays natural, turns bright white or flies in your own colours. A simple piece of plywood becomes exactly the coastal feel you have in mind.

What changes for you

  • You can design your decorations exactly to your taste – because the wood is untreated and can be decorated with stickers, painted, coated or oiled.
  • Your seagull looks lively straight away. The engraved outline draws the face and wing lines finely onto the top side.
  • There is no sanding or finishing to do. The laser-cut edges are smooth and clean. They have the typical brown laser edge as a neat border.
  • You'll find the right size for every spot. Choose from a small 5 cm seagull for a lantern to a 50 cm seagull for the wall. Sizes go up in 1 cm steps.
  • Larger projects are easy to plan too. The wooden seagull comes singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.

Why this wooden seagull makes a difference every day

Seaside decorations are all about small details that work together. The wooden seagull does just that. At the window, on a shelf or above the door, the motif brings lightness and a bit of the sea into the room. It never feels too much. You choose the size and design yourself. So each seagull fits naturally into your home or shop display. It won't look like something off the shelf.

Material & finish

The seagull is laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood. This gives smooth, clean edges and the typical brown laser edge, which outlines the motif finely. The top side has the engraved outline. The underside stays natural. The wood is untreated, not varnished and not glazed. Paints, glues and oils adhere to it particularly well. Wood is a natural material and is never completely uniform. Different shades, fine grain and small knots are part of it. They make every piece unique. Every wooden seagull is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the wooden seagull

  • At the window: Hang up a few seagulls in different sizes. Suddenly the view outside feels like a view of the sea.
  • Crafting with children: Each child paints their own seagull. In the end, a whole colourful flock flies through the children's room.
  • For a beach-themed summer party or christening: Use small seagulls as table scatter or place card tags. Your guests will be in holiday mode as soon as they sit down.
  • In a café or fishmonger's: Seagulls in the shop window or on the counter support your seaside theme. They are quick to put up. With sets from 10 pieces, larger areas are easy to plan too.
  • On cards and gifts: Stick on a small 5 cm seagull. Plain wrapping turns into a lovingly designed greeting from the coast.

Good to know about the seagull

Hardly any animal stands for the sea, harbours and wanderlust like the seagull. For most people, the sight of one is part of any seaside holiday. That is exactly why the motif works so well as decoration. It brings back memories of beach walks and sea air straight away. It suits seaside-style living spaces as well as summer parties, holiday flats and shops with a coastal theme.

Care & durability

There's not much to do. Indoors, an occasional dusting is enough to keep the seagull looking good for a long time. The wood is untreated, so avoid constant moisture. If you want to use the seagull outdoors, protect it first with paint, a wood stain or oil.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint or decorate the seagull? Yes. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. Paints, pens, glues and oils adhere to it very well.

Why does the seagull have a brown edge? The brown edge is created by the laser and is typical of this cutting method. It gives the motif a fine, natural outline. The edges are still smooth and clean.

Are both sides designed? No. The top side has the engraved outline with face and wing lines. The underside stays natural.

Does every seagull look the same? The shape is identical, the wood is not. As a natural material, it shows different shades, fine grain and occasionally small knots. That is what makes every piece unique.

How tall is the seagull at my chosen width? For reference: at 10 cm wide, it is 4.5 cm tall. The height grows in proportion to the width you choose.

A wooden cutout is only the start. Then comes the moment you hang up your finished seagull and take a step back. Suddenly your home looks like the coast. Just choose your size and quantity. You design the rest exactly as you like.
