On every plate there's a little lucky charm, painted and labelled by hand. With this wooden pig with wings, you already have the blank for it. It's a flying pig made of 3 mm poplar plywood. It's untreated and ready for your ideas – just right for your craft table. Table decoration, gift tag or window picture: you decide where it goes.
What changes for you
- You can start painting, decorating or oiling straight away. The wood is natural and untreated, and it takes paint well.
- Your motif already looks drawn before you start decorating. The contour cut marks the face and lines finely on the top.
- You get exactly the size your project needs – from 5 cm to 50 cm wide, in 1 cm steps.
- You don't need to sand any edges. The laser cut gives smooth edges, finished with the typical brown rim.
- You can easily supply larger craft groups or events too. Sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces are available.
Why this wooden pig makes a difference every day
A wooden pig brings just the right touch of humour to make New Year's decorations, gifts and good wishes personal. Instead of mass-produced shop goods, you create something of your own. It's a small one-off that shows someone put time and affection into it. And because the motif suits any time of year, it stays with you from New Year greetings to the children's bedroom window.
Material & finish
The flying pig is laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood. This gives clean, smooth edges with no finishing needed. The top shows the drawn contour cut. The underside is left natural. The wood is neither varnished nor glazed. So you can paint, oil or decorate it however you like. As a natural material, wood is never completely uniform. Variations in shade, fine grain patterns and small knots are normal. This makes every piece unique. The cutout is made in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia.

Good to know about the lucky pig
In German-speaking countries, the pig has been a symbol of luck for centuries. The saying “Schwein gehabt” (literally "had a pig", meaning "got lucky") is still a reminder of this today. That's why the motif is so popular at New Year. It makes a small lucky charm to give to the people you love. And it says more than any greetings card.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. As the wood is untreated, it keeps its look for a long time if stored dry. Avoid constant moisture. Or simply protect the surface yourself with paint, varnish or oil, just as your project needs.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate the wooden pig? Yes. The wood is left natural, so it's untreated. You can paint it, oil it, stick things on it or decorate it as you like.
Why does the cutout have a brown edge? The flying pig is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown rim along the edges. It's a feature of the process, which also produces smooth cut edges.
Are both sides designed? No. The top has the contour cut with face and lines. The underside is left natural.
Why don't all the cutouts look the same? Wood is a purely natural material. Variations in shade, fine grain patterns and small knots are part of it and make every piece unique.
How do I know how big the motif will be? Width and height are the same. If you choose a width of 10 cm, the pig is also 10 cm high.
The wooden cutout is only the start. What counts is the moment someone holds your hand-decorated lucky pig and realises: this was made just for me. Simply choose your size and quantity. You design the rest.
