Why this Reuleaux triangle makes a difference in everyday use
An unusual shape gets noticed. That is exactly what the Reuleaux triangle is about. It feels as familiar as a triangle, but softer and more modern. On the craft table, on the wall or as a hanging decoration, it stands out from the usual heart and star shapes. You do the designing. The shape does the rest.
Material & finish
The Reuleaux triangle is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives it smooth edges with the typical brown rim, which frames the shape and makes it look finished. The wood is untreated, not varnished or glazed. Paint, glue and oil stick directly, without sanding. Wood is a natural material, so every piece is unique. Different shades, fine structures in the grain and small knots are part of it and are not a defect. The cutout is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the Reuleaux triangle
- Crafting with children at the weekend: each child paints their own triangle. In the end, a colourful garland of one-of-a-kind pieces hangs in the children's room.
- For Christmas crafts: add paint and ribbon to the small sizes. Now you have homemade decorations for the tree, the window or your presents.
- For money gifts: stick notes or coins onto the shape, add a message and wrap it. Your gift arrives as a designed wooden object instead of an envelope.
- In maths or art lessons: the shape of constant width as a hands-on teaching object. Abstract geometry suddenly becomes something to take home.
- In the shop or at the market: use larger cutouts as decorative signs or price tags you can write on. They are quick to design and look uniform. Thanks to the sets, you can get them in larger quantities too.
Good to know about the shape of constant width
The Reuleaux triangle is a so-called shape of constant width. It has the same width in every direction, just like a circle, only as a triangle. The shape is named after the engineer Franz Reuleaux, who made it known in the 19th century. This mix of maths and aesthetics makes the cutout interesting for school, lessons and anyone who likes their decorations to tell a little story.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. The wood is untreated, so it keeps its natural look for a long time if stored dry. Avoid constant moisture. Or simply paint, varnish or oil the surface yourself to protect it the way you like.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate the Reuleaux triangle? Yes. The plywood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. Paint, glue and oil stick directly to the surface.
Why do the edges have a brown rim? The cutout is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown rim. It also makes the edges smooth and clean.
How should I read the dimensions? The chosen size applies to height and width. At 10 cm, the triangle is 10 cm high and 10 cm wide. The material is 3 mm thick.
Do all cutouts look the same? The shape is identical, the wood is not. As a natural material, every piece shows its own grain, different shades and sometimes small knots. Every piece is one of a kind.
A simple plywood shape becomes your very own piece: painted, decorated, given as a gift. Just choose your size and quantity and get started.
