Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong.Valentine's Day is coming. This year you'd like to give something handmade. Something that says more than a shop-bought card. This wooden Cupid with bow and arrow is made for exactly that. It's an untreated wooden cutout. You can paint it, decorate it or use it just as it is. A small craft idea becomes a gift tag, a table decoration or a window decoration. It's entirely up to you.
What changes for you
- You design Cupid to suit your occasion. The plywood is untreated, so you can paint, oil, stain or stick things onto it.
- You'll find the right size for every idea, from a small tag to a large window decoration. Choose a width from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- You can craft in a relaxed way, even with children – because the laser-cut edges are smooth and don't need sanding.
- You get even, clean shapes for larger projects. Every Cupid is laser-cut precisely. It's also available in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
Why this wooden Cupid makes a difference
Decorations you make yourself feel different from mass-produced ones. They show that you've put thought into them. A lovingly painted Cupid on a gift, a greeting card or at your guests' places turns an ordinary evening into a special moment. Wood is a natural material. So the motif sits quietly in any table setting rather than taking over.
Material & finish
Cupid is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. That's why the edges are smooth and have the typical brown rim. The rim gives the motif a fine outline. The wood is left untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. This way paint and glue stick reliably. Wood is a purely natural material. It varies in shade, shows its own grain patterns and may have small knots. This makes every piece one of a kind. It isn't a defect, it's simply the nature of wood. Every cutout is made in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia.

- On greeting cards: Stick the motif onto a handmade card. The paper card gains real depth and is one people like to keep.
- For money gifts: Cupid holds the banknote or decorates the packaging. Suddenly the envelope feels like a thoughtful present.
- As table and window decoration: Put small sizes at each place and a large one in the window. The theme of love runs through the whole room.
- In cafés, bakeries or florists: With a set of 25 or 50 you can decorate your counter, shop window and Valentine's displays in one style. It's quick to set up and you can reuse it every year.
Good to know about Cupid
Cupid is the Roman god of love. His Greek counterpart is Eros. According to legend, anyone hit by his arrow falls in love. That's why Cupid with bow and arrow is still the classic symbol for Valentine's Day, engagements and weddings. So the motif fits wherever you want to show affection.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Store the untreated wooden cutout in a dry place and avoid constant moisture. This keeps the motif in shape, and it will still look good next year. If you'd like to protect the surface or change its colour, you can paint or oil Cupid at any time.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate Cupid? Yes. The plywood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. Paints, varnishes, oils and glues stick directly to the surface.
Where does the brown rim on the edges come from? Cupid is laser-cut. This creates the typical dark rim that gives the motif a clean outline. The edges are smooth and need no further finishing.
Do all cutouts look exactly the same? The shape is identical, the wood isn't. As a natural material, it varies in shade and may show small knots or grain patterns. This makes every piece one of a kind.
Which size is best for what? Small widths from 5 cm work as gift tags or on greeting cards. Medium sizes suit table decorations. Large versions up to 50 cm work as window decorations or wall decorations in a shop window.
What counts is the moment someone picks up your gift. They see the little painted Cupid and know straight away: you made this yourself. Just choose your size and quantity – and get started.
