Autumn is just around the corner, there's still room on the windowsill, and the children want to get crafty this afternoon. A wooden apple is made for moments like this: a clear silhouette you can paint, decorate or simply stand up as it is – and a plain cutout becomes a decoration that's entirely your own.

What changes for you

  • You can design the apple exactly the way you imagine it – because the plywood is untreated and easy to glue on, paint, varnish or oil.
  • You'll find the right size for every space, from small table scatter to a large shop window piece. Heights range from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • Crafting with children is more relaxed, because the laser-cut edges are smooth and nobody gets caught on rough spots.
  • You can plan bigger projects without having to reorder – the wooden apple is available individually or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
  • You get clean, careful finishing from our own production. Every cutout is made by Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia.

Why this wooden apple makes a difference every day

A wooden decorative apple sits quietly on a windowsill, on a wreath or in an autumn display. It doesn't crowd out the other pieces. Because you decide how it looks, it fits your home and not the other way round. And when guests ask where the decoration came from, you can say: I made it myself.

Material & finish

The apple is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood, which gives it the typical brown edge that delicately traces the silhouette. The edges are smooth and the surface is untreated – neither varnished nor glazed – so it takes paint, glue or oil well. Wood is a purely natural material: the shade and grain always vary a little, and small knots may occur. That's exactly what makes each piece unique – not a flaw.

How to use your wooden apple

  • Crafting with children: each child paints their own apple – and at the end, a colourful harvest hangs from a branch in the hallway.
  • For the first day of school or as a little thank-you for a favourite teacher: a wooden apple with a personal message says more than a card.
  • As autumn and harvest festival decoration: a few apples in different sizes on the windowsill – and the room instantly feels seasonal.
  • Christmas crafting: painted red and finished with a ribbon, the apple becomes an ornament for the tree or a gift tag.
  • In the farm shop, at the market or in the bakery: large apples up to 50 cm can label apple cake, cider or seasonal specials – quick to set up, easy to see and ready to write on however you like.

Good to know about the apple

Before glass baubles existed, real apples decorated the Christmas tree – the red bauble on the green branches goes back to this tradition. That's why the apple fits not only into harvest time but just as well into your Christmas decorations and Christmas crafting with children.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do: store the cutouts somewhere dry and protect the untreated wood from prolonged moisture, and they'll keep their shape and light look for a long time. If you'd like to use the apples outdoors, simply paint or oil them first – that way the surface stays protected.

Options & what's included

  • Choose your height: 3 cm to 50 cm, in 1 cm steps
  • Available singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100
  • The wooden cutout is supplied in its natural state – unpainted and untreated

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint or decorate the wooden apple? Yes. The plywood is untreated and takes paint, glue and oil well – ideal for crafting, decorating and painting.

Why does the apple have a brown edge? The cutout is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge that neatly highlights the outline – the edges are smooth.

Do all the apples look the same? The shape is identical, the wood isn't: as a natural material, it varies in shade and may show small irregularities or knots in the grain. That makes every cutout unique.

Is the cutout suitable for outdoor use? Untreated, it's intended for indoor use. With a coat of varnish or oil, you can protect it for use outdoors.

In the end, it's not about a plywood cutout. It's about the afternoon when paint, a brush and a simple apple shape turn into something that earns a permanent place in your home. Just choose your size and quantity – the rest is up to you.
