Your baby sister has arrived, the christening is coming up or the baby shower is just around the corner. And you'd like to make something more personal than shop-bought decorations. That's exactly what this wooden baby hand is for. It's a delicate silhouette made of untreated poplar plywood. You can paint it, write on it or decorate it however you like. A simple wooden cutout becomes a keepsake that suits your occasion.

What changes for you

  • You can design it just the way you want. The wood is unfinished and takes paint, pens, oil or glue with no trouble.
  • Your decoration can be anything from a small piece of table scatter on the christening table to a large wall piece. You can choose the width from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • It's easy to work with and needs no finishing. The laser-cut edges are smooth, so there's nothing to sand.
  • You're well stocked for bigger projects too, such as crafting with a group of children. The baby hand comes single or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
  • You're holding a genuine natural product, made in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia.

Why this wooden baby hand makes a difference

Decorations for a birth or christening shouldn't feel random. They should tell what the day is about. Everyone recognises the little hand straight away. And because you design it yourself, it can carry a name, a date or a kind message. That way your gift table, card or money gift shows you've put some thought into it.

Material & finish

The baby hand is laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood. This gives it the typical fine brown edge that frames the silhouette. The surface is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. So you can paint it, oil it, write on it or decorate it, just as your project needs. Wood is a natural material. Each hand has its own shade, its own grain pattern and may have a small knot. This makes every piece unique. It is not a flaw.

How to use the baby hand

  • For a birth: write the name and date on the hand and thread a ribbon through a drilled hole. Now you have a gift tag that stays long after the wrapping paper has gone.
  • For a christening: scatter small hands across the table as table scatter. Guests can see who is being celebrated as soon as they sit down.
  • Money gift crafts: use the hand to hold folded notes or to decorate a gift box. This makes a money gift look lovingly made rather than awkward.
  • Christmas and greetings card crafts: stick on a small hand and add a few words. A simple card becomes a keepsake worth keeping.
  • Crafting with children: big brothers and sisters paint their own hand for the baby. It's a calm project with a result they can be proud of.
  • For businesses: in the shop window, on the counter or at a market stall, the baby hand marks your birth and christening range. With set sizes of up to 100, it's also easy to budget for promotions and workshops.

Good to know about the baby hand

A newborn's handprint has been one of young families' favourite keepsakes for generations. Hardly any motif stands so directly for the start of a life. That's why the wooden baby hand suits not only a birth. It's just as right for a christening, a baby shower and any occasion that centres on the child.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. The untreated wood stays looking good for a long time if you keep it dry and avoid constant moisture. If you paint or oil it, you protect the surface further and choose the look at the same time.

Options & what's included

  • Width freely selectable from 5 cm to 50 cm, in 1 cm steps
  • Available singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100
  • The wooden baby hand is supplied untreated and undecorated. Any painting or decoration shown in the pictures is not included

Frequently asked questions

Is the wood treated? No, the baby hand is neither varnished nor glazed. You can paint, decorate, write on or oil it straight away.

Where does the brown edge come from? The hand is laser-cut. The fine brown edge is typical of this process. It also gives you smooth edges with no sanding needed.

How tall is the hand at a given width? As a guide: at a width of 10 cm, the height is 9.2 cm. The proportions stay the same for all sizes.

Why don't all the hands look the same? Wood is a natural material. Different shades, grain patterns and small knots are normal. Every piece is unique.

Can I order larger quantities? Yes, the baby hand comes single or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100. That's ideal for group projects, workshops or shop decorations.

What counts is more than a wooden cutout. It's the moment someone holds the little hand with the baby's name on it. And realises that you've put thought into it. Simply choose your size and quantity. You design the rest.
