Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong.Spring is just around the corner, the wreath on your front door still looks a little bare – and you're missing exactly the motif that brings the garden and the season indoors. A wooden bee is made for it: a clean plywood silhouette, untreated and ready for your colours and ideas. Whether you leave it natural or paint it as a honeybee, a simple cutout becomes your very own piece of spring decor.
What changes for you
- You can start painting, decorating or oiling right away – because the wood arrives untreated in its natural state.
- You'll find the right size for every project, from a small table scatter piece to a large sign – thanks to a choice of widths from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- There's no sanding needed before you begin – the bee is laser-cut and has smooth edges with the typical brown rim.
- You save yourself placing lots of single orders for bigger projects – because the bee also comes in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
Why this wooden bee makes a difference in everyday life
Ready-made decor often looks like everyone else's. A blank, on the other hand, becomes exactly what you make of it: striped yellow and black for an Easter wreath, left natural on a wood slice, or in little hands during a crafting session at the kitchen table. That's how you create decor that truly suits your home – with a little story behind it.
Material & finish
The bee is made from 3 mm plywood. It is laser-cut in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. This gives you clean outlines and smooth edges that won't bother you while you craft. The fine brown edge comes from the laser and is part of its character. Wood is a purely natural material, so every bee turns out a little different. Some are lighter, some darker, and some have small knots or irregularities in the grain. That is exactly what makes each piece one of a kind.

How to use your wooden bee
- Crafting with children: each child paints their own wooden bee – and in the end a whole swarm of colourful honeybees and wild bees is buzzing at the window.
- For a spring wreath: tuck a few small bees between twigs and blossoms – and the wreath on your door instantly comes to life.
- At the beehive or insect hotel: glued onto a wood slice and labelled, the silhouette becomes a sign that shows every visitor who lives here.
- In a farm shop or at a market stall: one large bee above the honey shelf – and customers spot your products at a glance, without you having to explain much.
- As a gift tag: a small bee on a ribbon around a jar of honey – and a little present becomes a lovingly wrapped gesture.
Good to know about the bee
The bee has long been a symbol of hard work, community and blooming gardens. That's why the motif suits not only spring and garden decor but also makes a lovely gift for beekeepers, garden lovers or anyone with an insect hotel in their garden.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do: indoors, the untreated bee stays beautiful for a long time as long as it's kept dry. If you want to hang it outside – as a sign on a beehive, for example – paint, oil or varnish it first to protect the wood from moisture. Untreated plywood shouldn't be exposed to constant damp.

Frequently asked questions
Is the wood treated? No, the bee comes untreated – neither varnished nor glazed. So you can paint, decorate, coat or oil it straight away.
Where does the brown rim on the edges come from? It's created by the laser and is typical of this cutting method. The edges are smooth and don't need sanding.
Why don't all the bees look the same? Wood is a natural material: brightness, grain and small knots vary from piece to piece. That's not a flaw – it makes every bee unique.
Can I use the bee outdoors? Yes, if you paint, oil or varnish it first – untreated, it belongs indoors.
In the end, it's not about a wooden cutout. It's about the afternoon when a simple silhouette becomes your own bee – painted, decorated, hung up. Just choose your width and quantity and get started.
