The edges are cut smooth and the finish is clean. You can pick up the wood and work on it right away. The surface is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. Paints, glue, oil and pens therefore adhere well. Wood is a natural material. Shade, grain and small knots vary a little with every cutout.
