A rainy afternoon. The craft table is set and the paints are ready. All that's missing is a motif that makes children's eyes light up. Would you like to make a blue whale, paint one or hang it up as nautical decoration? Then this wooden blue whale is made for your craft table. Just choose a width from 3 to 50 cm and get started – with a single whale or a whole set.

What changes for you

  • You can start straight away, with no sanding needed. The blue whale is laser-cut and has smooth edges.
  • You design the whale exactly the way you want. The wood is untreated, so you can paint it, decorate it with stickers, coat it or oil it.
  • You'll find the right size for every project. Choose any width from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • Your craft afternoon with children is more relaxed. Every figure is cleanly finished, so nobody snags on rough edges.
  • You can plan bigger activities without worrying about reordering. Sets come with 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces.

Why this wooden blue whale makes a difference day to day

A ready-cut motif takes the hardest part off your hands. You don't need to draw, saw or tidy anything up. You go straight to the fun part: decorating. In the window, on the wall or as part of a mobile in the nursery – the whale is quick to hang up or build in. And because you choose the size, it fits your project, not the other way round.

Material & finish

The blue whale is made from 3 mm plywood. It is laser-cut in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. Laser cutting gives smooth edges and the typical lightly browned rim, which gives the silhouette a clear outline. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. This means paint and glue stick reliably. As a natural material, each piece has its own shade and grain, and small knots are possible. That makes every whale one of a kind, not a flaw.

How to use the wooden blue whale

  • Crafting with children: each child paints their own whale and takes a little work of art home at the end.
  • In the nursery: hang several whales in different sizes as a mobile or wall decoration, and a whole whale family swims above the bed.
  • For a christening: use it as a gift tag or a place card. Your table decoration gets a personal, nautical motif.
  • At a summer party: put whales in the window and on the garland, and the ocean theme runs through the whole room.
  • In a shop or café: with a set of 25, 50 or 100 pieces, you can decorate a shop window or counter in a uniform look. Quick to set up, with no cutting work.

Good to know about the blue whale

The whale has long been a symbol of protection and safety. Many know it from the biblical story of Jonah and the whale. That's why the motif is not only popular as summer and nursery decoration. It also suits christenings and births beautifully.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. Keep the untreated whale dry and away from constant moisture, so the wood keeps its shape for a long time. If you want to use it outdoors or long term, simply paint, oil or varnish it.

Frequently asked questions

Is the blue whale already painted or treated? No, the wood is completely untreated – neither varnished nor glazed. So you can paint it, decorate it with stickers, coat it or oil it as you like.

How tall is the whale at a given width? The height follows from the shape. At a width of 10 cm, it is 3.5 cm. Larger widths scale in the same proportion.

Why do the edges have a brown rim? The whale is laser-cut. This creates the typical lightly browned rim with a smooth edge, which makes the silhouette stand out clearly.

Do all the whales look exactly the same? The shape does, the wood doesn't. As a natural material, it varies in shade and grain, and small knots can occur. This makes every piece one of a kind.

This is more than a wooden cutout. It's the moment your child proudly holds up their brightly painted whale. Or the moment your christening guests spot decorations made with love. Just choose your width and quantity and get started.
