The underside is left natural. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. So it reliably takes paint, glue and oils. Wood is a natural material, so every piece turns out a little different. Variations in shade, fine patterns in the grain and small knots are normal. That makes every pretzel one of a kind. It is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.
