What changes for you
- Your invitations and greetings cards tell a story straight away. That's because the carrier pigeon has always been seen as a bearer of good news.
- You'll find the right size for every project. The pigeon can be ordered from 5 to 50 cm in height, in 1 cm steps.
- You can design the wooden bird in your own style. The untreated wood takes paint, glue and oil well.
- You won't need to do any finishing work. The laser cut leaves smooth edges, and the face and outline are already finely cut in.
- Planning bigger projects is easy. The pigeon comes singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
Why this wooden carrier pigeon makes a difference
A handmade card or a lovingly wrapped gift stays in the memory longer than any standard printed post. With the pigeon as a decoration, you give your message something tangible. It's a small piece of nature the recipient holds in their hand and often keeps for a long time. That way, an envelope becomes a moment to look forward to.
Material & finish
The pigeon is light yet keeps its shape, because it is made from 3 mm poplar plywood. The laser cut gives clean, smooth edges. It also leaves the typical brown rim that neatly frames the silhouette. The top side has the contour lines and face cut in. The underside is left plain. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor stained. So you can easily paint it, decorate it, coat it or oil it. As a natural material, each piece has its own shade, grain and sometimes small knots. That makes every pigeon one of a kind. It is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the carrier pigeon
- For wedding post: a small pigeon on every invitation. Your guests hold a piece of your story in their hands before the big day.
- For gift wrapping: tie the pigeon to the ribbon and write a name on it. The tag becomes a keepsake that lasts.
- For a farewell or a move: on the card, the carrier pigeon delivers news of the new home. It's a motif that needs few words.
- For craft projects with children: paint it, decorate it, hang it up. Soon a whole flock of homemade pigeons flies at the window.
- In a café, shop or at the weekly market: arrange several sizes in the window or on the counter. It's a calm motif that draws attention to invitations, promotions and good news. With sets of 10 to 100, you're quickly equipped for larger decorations too.
Good to know about the carrier pigeon
For centuries, carrier pigeons safely delivered messages over long distances. That's why their silhouette still stands for good news today. The dove has also been known as a symbol of peace at least since Picasso's poster for the World Peace Congress in Paris in 1949. So the motif suits not only weddings and christenings. It also fits confirmations, memorial days and peace services.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Keep the untreated pigeon dry, and it will keep its shape and light natural colour. If you paint, varnish or oil it, you decide the finish and protection to suit your project.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate the carrier pigeon? Yes. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor stained. You can paint it, decorate it, coat it or oil it.
Where does the brown rim on the edges come from? The pigeon is laser-cut. The brown rim forms naturally in the process and is typical of a laser cut.
Do all the pigeons look exactly the same? The shape is identical, the wood is not. As a natural material, it shows different shades, textures and occasionally small knots. Every piece is one of a kind.
How wide is the pigeon at the height I choose? As a guide: at a height of 10 cm, the width is 8.5 cm. The proportions stay the same for all sizes.
What really counts is not the wooden cutout. It's the moment someone opens your letter, finds the little pigeon and feels that this message comes from the heart. Just choose your size, singly or as a set. Then send your good news on its way.
