What changes for you
- You can start painting, gluing or writing straight away. The wood is unfinished and takes paint, varnish and oil well.
- Your motif fits your project exactly, from a small table scatter piece to a large wall sign. Widths range from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- You save yourself the sawing and sanding. The laser cut gives smooth edges and a clean outline, even on fine details.
- You can supply larger projects in one go, such as table decorations for a party or craft sessions with children. The bread knife is available singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
Why this wooden cutout makes a difference in everyday life
Homemade decorations turn out better when the base material is cleanly made. With a ready-cut kitchen knife motif, you don't start with a raw board. You go straight to the fun part: decorating. Use it on the kitchen wall, as a sign in a bakery or café or as a marker at the buffet. The motif is instantly recognisable as a bread knife and makes the kitchen theme clear.
Material & finish
- Poplar plywood, 3 mm thick – light, holds its shape and easy to work with.
- Laser cut with the typical brown edge. It frames the outline and gives the motif a distinctive look.
- Smooth edges with no finishing needed – pleasant to hold and ready to use straight away.
- Untreated surface, not varnished or glazed. You decide whether to paint it, oil it, stick things on it or leave it natural.
- Wood is a natural material. Variations in shade and grain as well as small knots are normal. This makes every piece unique.
- Made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the wooden bread knife
- On the kitchen wall: paint a large motif and hang it up. Your kitchen then has a piece you designed yourself. Nobody else has one exactly like it.
- Crafting with children: each child decorates their own knife motif with paint and glue. At the end, they proudly take a finished piece home.
- For money gifts: tie banknotes to the motif and add a saying about baking bread. It's a gift people will remember.
- In bakeries and cafés: as a labelled sign on the counter or shelf, the motif shows at a glance where the bread is. It looks tidy and is quick to put up.
- At the buffet or the weekly market: as a marker at the bread station or stall, it helps your guests and customers find their way straight away.
Good to know about the bread knife motif
In many regions of Germany, bread traditionally stands for hospitality. Bread and salt are still a popular gift when someone moves into a new home. That's why the bread knife motif is not just for kitchen decorations. It also makes a good base for a personal housewarming gift or a lovingly made small present.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Untreated plywood stays in its best condition when kept dry. If you want to protect the surface or add colour, you can paint, oil or varnish it. That way your motif will look good for a long time.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the bread knife or stick things on it? Yes. The wood is untreated and can be painted, oiled, covered or decorated in other ways.
Why does the cutout have a brown edge? The motif is laser-cut. The brown edge comes from the cutting and is typical of this process. The edges are still smooth.
How tall is the motif at the width I choose? The height is one tenth of the width. At 10 cm wide the motif is 1 cm tall, at 50 cm it is 5 cm tall.
Do all cutouts look the same? The shape is identical, the wood isn't. As a natural material, it varies in shade and grain and occasionally has small knots. Every piece is one of a kind.
What matters is the moment your own motif hangs on the kitchen wall. Everyone can see straight away that bread is part of everyday life here. Just choose your width and quantity and get started.
