Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. It's Saturday afternoon and the coffee smells wonderful. But your kitchen wall is still bare. Or maybe your café window should tell passers-by that fresh coffee is served here. This wooden cappuccino cup is a poplar plywood cutout. You decorate it just the way you like. Paint it, stick things on it, oil it or leave it natural. It's made for your coffee corner – from small table scatter to a large wall motif.
What changes for you
- You decorate it exactly to your taste. The wood is untreated, so you can paint it, glue on it, coat it or oil it.
- You'll find the right size for every spot, from a scatter piece on the coffee table to a large wall motif. You can choose any width from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- You get a finished shape straight away. No sawing, no sanding. The cappuccino cup is laser-cut and has smooth edges.
- When crafting with kids or in a craft group, everyone gets the same blank. The cup is also available in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
- Your motif has a clear outline even before you paint it. That comes from the typical brown edge created by laser cutting.
Why this wooden cappuccino cup makes a difference in everyday life
A coffee cup as a motif instantly says break time, warmth and a good chat. Hang it above the coffee machine at home. Scatter it on the table when friends come for breakfast. Or put it in your café window. The motif creates just the mood people connect with a good cup of coffee. You choose the size and the design yourself. So the cup suits your home or your shop and doesn't look like off-the-shelf decor.
Material & finish
The cappuccino cup is made from 3 mm poplar plywood. It is laser-cut in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia. The edges are smooth and the finish is clean. So you can pick it up and start decorating right away. The wood is untreated – neither varnished nor glazed. Paint, glue and oils adhere well. The natural surface stays open for your own ideas. Wood is a natural material and never completely uniform. Variations in shade, fine grain patterns and small knots are part of it. They make each piece one of a kind and are not a defect.

How to use the cappuccino cup
- Crafting with kids in the afternoon: each child paints their own cup. In the end, a colourful row of coffee cups hangs in the kitchen, and everyone is proud of it.
- As table scatter on the coffee table: spread a few small cups between cake plates and candles. Your table looks lovingly laid with very little effort.
- On your kitchen wall at home: a large cup, painted or oiled to your taste. Your coffee corner gets a motif that exists only once.
- In a café, bakery or at a market stall: the cup silhouette in the window or on the counter tells customers from afar that fresh coffee is served here. Write your offer on it and use it straight away as a price tag or menu board.
- As a small gift: a painted cup attached to a present for a coffee lover. For example, as a handmade extra with a Mother's Day or Father's Day gift.
Good to know about the cappuccino cup
The cappuccino owes its name to the Capuchin friars. The colour of the milky coffee reminded people of the brown of their habits. This coffee house tradition makes the cup silhouette an easily recognised motif – for your own kitchen as well as for a café window.
Care & durability
There's not much to do. Simply keep the cappuccino cup dry and dust it with a dry cloth when needed. The wood is untreated, so avoid constant moisture. If you want to protect the surface, coat or oil it after decorating. That way your motif stays looking good for a long time.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the cappuccino cup or stick things on it? Yes. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. You can paint it, glue on it, coat it or oil it.
Why does the cup have a brown edge? The cutout is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge, which gives the motif extra definition. The edges are smooth.
