- Your shape fits your project exactly. You can choose any width from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- No need to worry about rough spots when crafting with children. The edges are cleanly laser-cut and smooth.
- Planning school projects or group crafts is easy. The chameleon is available individually or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
- Your piece already looks good unpainted. The typical brown laser edge clearly traces the silhouette.
Why this wooden chameleon makes a difference in everyday life
A good craft shape does half the work for you. The outline is already there, so you only need to think about colour and ideas. An afternoon at the kitchen table turns into jungle decorations for a child's bedroom or a small handmade gift. And because wood looks warm and natural, the finished chameleon fits quietly into your home, with no plastic shine.
Material & finish
The chameleon is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. That gives it smooth edges and the typical brown rim that brings out the outline. The wood is left natural, with no varnish or glaze. You can paint, decorate, glue or oil it without any preparation. As a natural material, every piece has its own grain, small knots and varying shades. This isn't a flaw. It's what makes every chameleon one of a kind. It is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the wooden chameleon
- Crafting with children: each child paints their own chameleon in their favourite colours. At the end, a colourful lizard parade hangs in the bedroom.
- For jungle decorations: put a few chameleons in different sizes on the wall or on a shelf. The safari theme in the child's bedroom almost creates itself.
- For school projects or nurseries: with a set of 25 or 50, every group has enough blanks. And you don't have to cut them out by hand.
- As table scatter for a birthday: spread small chameleons between the plates. Your guests have something to discover even before the cake arrives.
- In a shop or café with an animal or jungle theme: painted chameleons in the window catch people's attention and are quick to arrange.
Good to know about the chameleon
The chameleon is famous for changing colour. Hardly any animal stands so clearly for change and transformation. That's what makes it such a rewarding craft shape. Bright and bold, pastel or left natural with the grain showing – every chameleon can look different, and none of them is wrong.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. In dry indoor areas, the untreated wood stays looking good for a long time. Protect it from constant moisture. Or paint, oil or varnish it as you like to make the surface more resistant.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the chameleon straight away? Yes. The plywood is untreated and can be painted, decorated, glued or oiled without any preparation.
Why does the wood have a brown edge? The chameleon is laser-cut. The brown edge forms during cutting and is typical of this process. It brings out the silhouette and gives smooth edges.
How tall is the chameleon at the width I choose? The proportions stay the same: at a width of 10 cm, the height is 8 cm. You can work out the height for any other width from this.
Do all chameleons look the same? The shape is identical, but the wood isn't. As a natural material, every piece has its own grain, varying shades and sometimes small knots. Every chameleon is one of a kind.
Can the chameleon be used outdoors? It is intended for dry indoor areas. Painting or varnishing makes the surface more resistant. Even so, you should protect it from constant moisture.
The best part comes after the wooden cutout. It's the moment the hand-painted chameleon hangs on the bedroom wall and gets proudly shown to everyone. Just choose your width and quantity. Then the next crafting afternoon can begin.
