The underside is left natural. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor stained. That is why it takes paint, glue or oil well. As it is a purely natural material, every piece is unique. Differences in shade, fine patterns in the grain or small knots are not flaws. They are part of what makes each piece appealing. The chilli is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia, and carefully finished.
