Why this wooden dirndl makes a difference
A wooden cutout is different from printed or punched decorations. You can paint, decorate or write on the smooth plywood surface. That way it really suits your party. Use it for a traditional-style garland, as a name tag at each seat or as a hand-painted gift. The result looks lovingly made, not shop-bought. And because every piece is real wood, it brings natural warmth to your decorations.
Material & finish
The dirndl is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives it smooth edges with the typical brown laser edge, which defines the outline of the shape. The wood is untreated, not varnished or glazed. So it takes paint, glue and oil well. Wood is a natural material and never completely uniform. Differences in shade, fine grain patterns and small knots are normal. This makes every piece one of a kind. The cutout is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

Good to know about the dirndl
The dirndl was originally simple work clothing worn by maids in the Alpine region. In the 19th century it became festive traditional dress. Today, hardly any other garment stands for folk festivals and good company quite like it. That is why the silhouette works so well as a decoration. It instantly brings to mind Oktoberfest, church fairs and Bavarian evenings. It is ideal for everything from place cards to shop window displays.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. As the wood is untreated, it is best kept dry. Avoid constant moisture. If you paint, varnish or oil the dirndl, the surface becomes more resistant. That way you can enjoy your decoration for a long time.
