Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The autumn wind blows through the window. Brushes, paints and a cup of tea are on the table – and it's time to get crafting. A wooden kite is made for this. A simple cutout becomes your very own autumn decoration – for the window, the table or the shop counter.
What changes for you
- You can start straight away, with no sawing or sanding – because the wooden kite is laser-cut and has smooth edges.
- Your paints go straight onto the surface, because the wood is untreated – neither varnished nor stained.
- You get exactly the size your project needs – from 3 cm to 50 cm tall, in 1 cm steps.
- You're ready for bigger craft groups too, because the kite comes as a single piece or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
- You decorate with a natural material that gives every piece its own grain – no two cutouts are alike.
Why this wooden kite makes a difference day to day
Decorations you make yourself say more than shop-bought ones. When the painted kite hangs in the window or lies on the autumn table, it holds an afternoon of your own. The clear shape keeps the decoration calm. The wood makes it look natural and inviting. And because you choose the size, the cutout fits exactly where you need it – from a small gift tag to a large window hanging.
Material & finish
The kite is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. That's where the clean, smooth edges come from. It also gives the typical brown edge, which adds a fine outline to the motif. Each piece is carefully made. The wood stays in its natural state and can be painted, oiled or covered. Every cutout is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. As a purely natural material, wood varies in shade and texture and sometimes has small knots. That makes every piece unique – it is not a flaw.

How to use the wooden kite
- At a crafting afternoon with children: each child paints their own kite – and proudly takes home a piece of autumn they made themselves.
- In the window or on the wall: combine several sizes into a small row of kites that sets the mood from the first day of autumn.
- On the laid table: a small kite as a place card or gift tag – and your guests have something to smile about before the meal.
- At nursery and school: with sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100, every group has enough blanks. You don't have to cut anything beforehand.
- In a bakery, café or at a market stall: painted in your colours, the kite becomes a seasonal counter decoration. It's quick to set out and goes with your autumn goods.
Good to know about dragons
This shape even gave mathematics its own term. In geometry, the quadrilateral is called a kite because it matches the classic outline of a flying kite. So the cutout works not just as autumn decoration. It is also a clear example for school and for craft projects about kite flying.
Care & durability
There isn't much to do. Keep the untreated cutout dry and away from constant moisture. That way the wood keeps its shape and your painting stays looking good for a long time. You can give the surface extra protection with a coat of paint or a little oil.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the kite straight away? Yes. The plywood is untreated, neither varnished nor stained. Paint, glue or oil stick directly to the surface.
What is the brown edge along the sides? The kite is laser-cut, and this creates the typical brown edge. It comes from the cutting process and gives the motif a clear outline.
Why do the cutouts look different? Wood is a purely natural material. Shade, grain and small knots vary from piece to piece – that makes every cutout unique.
How wide is the kite at my chosen height? For reference: at a height of 10 cm, the width is approx. 6 cm. Other sizes scale accordingly.
Is the kite available in larger quantities? Yes. As well as single pieces, you can order sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 – for groups, schools or shop decorations, for example.
A plywood cutout and a few brushstrokes are all it takes. One afternoon later, you have your own kite. It then keeps you company in the window all through autumn. Just choose your size and quantity and get started.
